Squidoo



I bought a lens targeted at the stimulus checks last year and the thing has paid for itself and then some.

I haven't touched it really in the last few months but it has made money. When I actually took the time to update it I ended up in the top 10 for political lenses.

I haven't dealt with it too much since early this year but there defiantly was money to be made. Diversify (because most lenses will probably only drive in $10/mo) over Squidoo and profit.

However most every niche I'm sure is pretty saturated.
 
Back in the day teh Squidoo and teh Blogger Generator were a pretty good combo.

Today Squidoo good for some links. Making money with it is hard because of all the other crap already on there.
 
I used to make about $1500 a month from my 50 or so lens. Many of the ones that took over the serps were banned by Squidoo and the rest were dumped when Google slapped them a year or so ago.

Some of my old lens are still ranking for long tail but I haven't really messed with Squidoo in about a year.
 
I subscribe to Seth Godin's blog and get it in email every day. They've started another huge slap against what he describes as scammers, etc.

I presume it's use for SEO+AM is still diminishing.

Fuck him. Even the lens that Squidoo celebrates are made for pure Internet marketing. Without these "scammers" he would be left with a bunch of recipe and I love my poodle lens. He doesn't make money unless people like you and I are actively SEO'ing the multiple lens that we create.
 
You can make money with Squidoo by ranking long tails, but they're losing their "authority" status. They get slapped around by Google and Yahoo all the time.

A few months back they were a PR8 site and they got slapped down to a PR6. After which Squidoo started cleaning up "spam" lenses and groups. Since then, it's returned to a PR7.

Recently their was a stretch where pretty much nobody received Yahoo traffic (which was a big traffic source for most lensmasters) after an algy change. Then supposedly Seth Godin spoke with Yahoo about it and traffic has picked up again.

One great thing about Squidoo is the niche market research that can be done. It has been so overrun by guru types (think: Howie Schwarz, etc.) and their sheep, you can pretty easily determine what markets are being tested by these peeps. For instance, Schwarz makes a killing during Halloween by selling costumes.

quite well said mate.. squidoo was good until users used it for spamming purposes :D.. i guess they are getting back to their roots.

NB: i know people who earns 3-4 figures monthly on squidoo
