Stats Junky vs. Prosper202

hmmmm... but databases and using PHP to reach into it is? What is the ideal programming language for a tracking script? I'm dying to know

php and mysql (probably NoSQL seeing as how Digg is moving there, Zynga uses mysql) imo is the ideal language for anything web related simply because the php syntax uses the fewest characters and while nowhere as fast as a compiled binary is fast enough most of the time.

facebook released software that compiles php code into a c binary but once again, web apps are usually not limited by request programming like web servers or php. python, perl, java and of course c binaries are all faster than php

i don't use prosper so i dunno why people are frustrated with it but there really isnt any way to get around requesting hundreds of thousands of rows and not having a delay. the slowness of prosper isn't limited by php but by mysql and possibly unoptimized queries

I'd love prosper with a brainless (ie- dumb people like me) data warehousing solution. I don't want to trash millions of subid records, however I'd love for monthly cron jobs to be able to be set (or equivalent) in software that would effectively clean out the DB moving a "copy?" of the older records to another location or another server which would function as a data warehouse and running reports out of it wouldn't affect the primary tracking server.

(Also the lack of clutter/huge numbers of records I would assume keep things running quickly)

Zero idea how complex this is- but again something that many of us would likely be willing to pay for, it just needs to be installable/setup like wordpress/prosper for those who shy away from amazon EC2 just b/c we can't setup our own servers.

heh $endTime = $_SERVER['REQUEST_TIME']-($_SERVER['REQUEST_TIME']+$gmtAdjust*3600)%86400;

for me... the biggest problem with Prosper (besides being server intensive)... is that it doesnt get the bids right. of course once you have solid CPC bid averages its all good, but testing testing is where I'm at. Totally blows that my data is wrong from the start. (until that BADASS MOTHERFUCKER WHO I WILL DONATE $1k TO MAKES IT WORK WITH THE API's IN REGARDS TO BID COSTS)

Prosper is balls for dynamic cpc stuff grrrrrr

It's almost completely pointless to use it unless your entire campaign is static.

Unfortunately there's basically no other real self hosted solution.

I've tossed around the idea of having one developed that has MVT and actual analytics integrated into it, but it's on the back burner.

Gonna need one of you to combine subid conversion tracking with visualwebsiteoptimizer and clicktale and get back to me. Also allow me to optimize it all based on eCPM instead, thanks.

I'm sure there are expensive agency solutions out there that can do all of that, but nothing out there within the reach of most people.

If you have the right server, prosper is great for PPV and email marketing tracking. Call me old fashion, but I converted back to using Adwords' integrated tracking function for my local PPC lead generation efforts.

Anyone still using Tracking 202 Pro?

If you can get your host to boot up a "DEDICATED MYSQL REPLICATED-SLAVE SERVER" {which is a clone of the MASTER}. You can make your prosper run all of the reports on that database. So if it crashes, it won't take down the master/redirect server.

This one is super easy to use:
Home - genetify - GitHub

Yeah, I agree it's super easy to use, so is aff prophet, google website optimizer, and split test accelerator. I'm looking for something integrated into tracking. So I don't have to 1. set up 2 (sometimes 3) different systems on a landing page to begin with and can 2. view everything / drill down stats through one interface, instead of 2 (sometimes 3)... in order to get statistically relevant data
