Hey guys,

Anyone here order tailored / bespoke dress shirts & suits online? I'm seeing a lot more of these sites pop up and seems a hell of a lot easier then going to a tailor every time you need clothing adjusted.

Several of the sites on adwords look like total shit, but I recall seeing a couple decent ones over the past year, but hesitant to order since the quality could be utter shit.

Great idea though, having measurements on file so you can order good suits / shirts on demand.

just wondering how online tailoring works exactly...

I have a tailor I have ordered from via phone / email and would order through a website as well if he had one. This was only after buying two different custom suits and a half-dozen shirts with multiple in-person fittings.

I would not be comfortable initially ordering online and just submitting my own measurements unless I was getting a great deal (e.g. high-end fabrics but really frickin cheap).

You want an in person fitting with someone who has a clue. You can find made to measure shops in many big cities and proper bespoke tailors in the largest cities (Google it). Made to measure is a little more expensive than off the rack, but it really is worth it. Most people (including Bill Gates for whatever reason) wear clothes the don't fit and look like clowns. If your clothes fit well, you are far ahead of most people.

This is an answer to a question you haven't asked: If you can afford a bespoke suit than you can afford to fly to London or Hong Kong to have it done properly.
