Nothing Can Be Explained
Alright real talk though no trolling on my part. I will only reply to serious replies cause I need to figure out what to do. Anyways I moved to FL for school and I'm still under my dad's insurance for health and shit. Anyways he knows that I work online every now and then but doesn't know how much I make.

EWA sent a small check just to confirm my address or w/e back in fall of 09 so my dad saw that since it was to my old address then they started ACHing to me. Long story short. My dad asks me to for my earnings of 09 since he is going to do taxes and I don't want him to know how much I have made.

I want to do it myself with a CPA but he says if I do that I will be taken off all the health insurances which is bad because I have a couple of health problems. I have made more than my mom 09 income in 3 months and they are going to flip the fuck out.

On serious note I need replies cause I am fucked for other reasons too :/.

Edit: I'm a Fulltime student and I'm 20

Why do you care if they know how much money you make?

I dunno man it's my biggest pet peeve. Then they will start treating me weird. Also I do come from a Hispanic background so you know how that is no offense to anyone but one a family member finds out you're making money everyone wants to leech off of you :disgust:

i am 99% sure that you filing taxes independently doesn't matter but i'm not sure. i had FT jobs all through college, some 1099 gigs due to guitar, and was on my folks' insurance the whole time.

go to your business school, find an accounting professor and ask them about the tax treatment. you'd probably impress the shit out of them with your entrepreneurial attitude. .

...and you dont want them to know how much you make so they dont act weird around you? Pleeeaaassse

Like I said I come from a hispanic background. And I haven't been making an average median since I'm a fulltime student... Once I graduate of course I will be taking care of them but at the time being I can't say a word. Knowing my mom she will out it and next hing I know I will have 50 family members trying to leech. If you were in my place you wouldn't be sayign that. trust me my family is fucked up:disgust: we have from millionaires that no1 hears from to crackheads that come beggin >_>

Hello friend,

Culture of hispanic strange. Usual when make lot money parents happy no mad.

Good luck bro

hmm...if you're making enough money that this is an issue you're making enough money to get the shit done right. pay a cpa in your area.

That's what I'm saying. I need to know if I'll still be under my parent's health insurance :/

Hello friend,

For be serious if you make lot money can no just buy self own insurance or pay doctor with cash?

Good luck bro

It's been 10 years since I went to college, but I seem to remember that they have to offer a student health insurance plan that'll cover full-time students, unless your parents waive it. Check into that, and get a CPA. It's money well spent.

Full-time student and full-time AM here... but my parents haven't done my taxes since I was 18 (now 26) ... Really, just call a CPA... I know its the "normal" thing to say, but you are in a bit of an odd situation.

In my personal opinion, he doesn't need to do your taxes to prove to health insurance that you are in school. Another point, HE is taking your College Tax Credits for himself. (Saved me $6500+ in taxes in 3 years.) That is the other issue to look at.

I don't think the TAX issue will affect you on your health insurance plans at all. At least what I know is that you can still be under your dad's insurance as long as you are under 25 years of age..... but again I'm not sure yet.

I mean family to me is my mom, dad brother and sister and no matter what if I can I will always take care of them. Relatives (aunts, auncles, cousins etc) are just relatives and you are not obligated to help them even if you are making the big bucks.

I have hispanic heritage too. and I will always take care of family. Always remember that they were with you in the bad and good times. That's the way we are, always taking care of our family members :)
