Heya all,

If you're using TLA - did you notice any penalties to your SEO rankings when using the service? I used to host a non TLA text block and it affected my ranking enough to remove it, not sure if they are going to be any different to wanted to check with you all.

Thanks!

I would assume the comparison of unrelated links possibly, when the spider hits it. Maybe I should pass. on doing TLA.

I know when I was doing the other program, all the links were non related (was getting $55/month though!) and my position for "metal forums" went from #1 to oblivion :/

I think most on here would say take whatever Matt Cutts says with a grain of salt, but according to him Google has the ability to detect paid links.
Matt Cutts: Gadgets, Google, and SEO » Text links and PageRank

i think it might be bs. how could they possibly tell if it's just a regular "a href" html code?
No. I don't think it is BS. It is quite easy to detect paid links versus natural links. Natural links are usually found in the middle of some text. Paid links are usually group together and may not be related to one another.

Oh that silly critter Matt Cutts, what a flake. People treat him like a god, and he is so far from it. I'm not saying he doesn't know his shit, because he obviously does, but from dropping any real techniques, it's the same shit over and over and stuff we've known about for years. I think most people just want to get close to him and touch him hoping that some of that Google magic rubs off on them too. He's just another nerd from the Google team.

I would hire him and pay him $2M a year just so long as he goes around NYC and to the Yahoo offices here dressed in a hot dog costume selling links.

hahah lerchmo, nice sig

ontopic AFAIK it shouldn't lower your rankings but it SHOULD lower the trust Google places in your outgoing links

been running TLA on a site I haven't updated in 12 months, no change in page rank
