Thanks Wickedfire.

Congrats man!

I, too, used to be an AM at a decent network (well, it was decent at the time). I remember thinking I was going to have a killer month in commissions, but something happened internally which quickly destroyed that fantasy. A few months later, new management came on board (some of them had ZERO knowledge of the affiliate space) and made some drastic chages which started affecting my book of business.

I was bitching to one of my affiliates at the time who was just starting his private network. He's like, "dude, why don't you run some offers through me?" I'll never forget that time, about a year ago, when I threw up my first campaign... Within a day or two I was hitting 100-200% ROI on $5k+ spends. Ah, the good old days. Then back in March after one too many clashes with upper management, I parted ways with the network and took it up full time. Best decision I've ever made...

Good luck to you, Brad!

Fleshlights.... that is my secret indeed.

Thanks for the congrats and what not. Honestly all it came down to was making an adwords and ysm deposit and sticking to what I -thought- would work and what made sense to me. A great landing page some sweet longtail keywords and that's it. There was nothing complex to it.

As a note I should add, today is just over half way done and I am on track for the same type of day. This is a pretty wild experience to say the least. Now I know how the people I worked for felt with sale confirmation emails coming in all day.

I should add: I am the worlds WORST designer. So the page I made looks like a 1999 mile long joke. But it's working. So now I can split test some other designs. :)

Did you come up with anything interesting while making your decision?
Fear. I didn't want to risk taking my own money and losing it. The thing is I have always made GOOD money since working online. But I've been paycheck to paycheck. I told myself 2009 would be different and I finally pulled the trigger. Either I make it big or I lose it all. At this point I don't see a holding pattern as something that makes any sense at all.

So the thing I discovered is that I had to finally discover if I had the balls to make calls on my own. Turns out I can.
