Well I've just purchased a .com domain, and i'm wondering what would be the best way to create arbi sites on it, including systems and subdomains/subdirectories.

I was thinking maybe doing something like this for general categories:

electronics.domainame.com
health.domainame.com
finance.domainame.com

and for more specific categories using subdirectories with subdomains:

electronics.domainame.com/nokia-3100
health.domainame.com/dove-soap
finance.domainame.com/mortgage

----------------------------------------------------
I've got almost no knowledge in HTML and PHP, creating plugins and CMS is a no no for me, simple static pages are alright though.

Now what i'm pondering is, with the number of subdomains and subdirectories, the simplest way to go is an HTML for each specific subdomain and subdirectory.

Another option is Wordpress, which i'm very fond of, i know some nice SEO plugins and some that will fasten the content adding proccess, and that's where i'm quite stuck...how many installs should i have? i'm afraid Wordpress will consume too much of CPU and make my sites slower, from the other hand, if i can get a way to install just the needed amount of Wordpress installs, it can help me a great deal.

Anyone with suggestions on how should i get on with this?

Thanks,
Allen.H

yourdomain.com/niche1.html
yourdomain.com/niche2.html

Less time pondering, more time building.

OR

yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3100.html
yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3101.html
yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3102.html

yourdomain.com/health/dove-soap.html
yourdomain.com/health/dove-shampoo.html

Etc.

:D

yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3100.html
yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3101.html
yourdomain.com/electronics/nokia-3102.html

yourdomain.com/health/dove-soap.html
yourdomain.com/health/dove-shampoo.html

Yeah i like these.

Two more questions:

- How many words should a page have so it doesn't get struck by that score bot Google has?

- How the hell can you align Google Adsense units without getting them to look whacky? (sorry if this really sounds noobish, i've searched everywhere)

wow, why are noob questions being posted here and not in the noob section?
also there is way to much thought going into this. Kiss, keep it simple stupid! have enough content to get the ad you want! if you can't do html or php maybe you should learn the basics before jumping into this or pay somone to do it right!

your posts never miss a beat. couldn't have said it better myself.

Thanks chrislingle, i'd rather listen to someone who has something productive to answer me with. I've been trying to get around to aligning the adsense units for more than an hour now with no success, that's why i posted about it here.

if your not great at coding just make the investment and buy a site builder. I am using NetObjects Fusion v9 - it is easy as hell to make arb sites, and even my e-commerce sites, and while it might not be as fancy as more expensive builders out there it does its job just fine.

Alright, thanks everyone. I needed to look some more into CSS, it was the "float" i didn't take notice of, which enabled me to merge adsense on the right hand side of the text.

I will take a look into that, thanks for the suggestion =)

Another question: how do you track you ads with arbi pages? i mean, isn't there hundred of them? do you track by URL or name?

Allen.H

Allen, what I gave you was constructive, you choose to take it as something else that is not my problem. you want structure look at top8site.com

you don't have to learn programming, html, php, etc
to start doing arbi believe me...I didn't
get a hold of XSite Pro to make your sites.
implementing adsense or affiliate links [SIZE=-1]is very easy.
It comes with a lot different tools to make your life easier like:
SEO,robots tx,redirect pages,site map, etc.
For tracking I use adsense gold.

What does AdSense Gold do?
Don't hold me to this, but I thought Adsense Gold tracks ads by pages and stuff like the other software out there, but they added some other bonuses to make it a "premium product".

If that is still correct, there are a couple other options - adlogger is an open source ad tracker, and aaron wall has a tracking script on his blog somewhere.
I am using NetObjects Fusion v9
If you are really cheap, you can use NVU which is an open source web creator from the netscape folks. I still recommend coughing up a hundred for Frontpage (though their css rendering is inconsistent at best), if you can't get a hold of something a bit better. Hopefully you'll outgrow the free editors pretty quick as you start automating and requiring php and some fancier site management tools

asrep tracks adsense real-time.
there is an evaluation version that has the basic info anyone who's just starting would need.
the full version is $50.

"asRep is a tool for tracking the details of Google AdSense activity on your web pages in real-time. It tracks the impressions of the pages and the ad units, the clicks to the ad units, and the searches performed through the search boxes. asRep also reports related information about your websites, the referring websites, the visitors, and the AdSense elements on your pages."
