Why I left: Life got tough.

As you can imagine, moving to Thailand, learning a (fucking hard) language, paying for an expensive loft downtown, being married in general, and keeping my business running was all pretty hard to juggle. I really didn't have time to keep posting here like I used to, so a ban seemed like the easiest ticket out of this timesuck. It did indeed buy me some time... Which in the end I found myself spending on freaking facebook! :crap: Old habits die hard.

Why I'm back: Life got even tougher!

Once I realized that I've left too many good friends and contacts behind here, (months ago) I had decided I'd surely come back sooner or later, but at no point could justify taking away from work or whatever to do it that day. Despite about 10 of you guys finding me on facebook, skyping, or emailing me to tempt me back, I was blindly hammering away at work, not ready yet until...

Life happened. One of my family members got sick and I had to come back to the USSA for a bit. I'm still here now, but I don't plan on staying one day longer than I'm needed. Sadly, while I was here helping out with family stuff, Google Adcents finally decided, after all these years, that my sites were too thin or something and booted my sorry ass.

:party-smiley-004:

Yes, I hereby give up my official title as proprietor of the Gay Adsense Farmers group. I'm sadly no longer qualified.

But wait, there's more!

11 days ago EBay's affiliate program (actually a bigger earner for me than Adcents during most of the year) made a horrible change to their affiliate program, cutting down the cookie from 7 days to a mere 24 hours... Meaning that if you sent them traffic today, they'd only credit you for a sale if the auction finishes TODAY!

ASS SPELUNKERS.

Naturally 95% of affiliates just got robbed of 50% of their EPN income or more. For me it was more like 70%. Overall I'm making about 30% of what I used to now, on good days.

It is clear to me that "easy" affiliate marketing is now dead. I've talked to dozens of others who got booted from adsense around the same time as me too... Just a sign of the economy, I guess.

Anyway, now I'm in a bit of a panic mode, promoting more amazon and trying out more of the 2nd-rated ad solutions like media.net. I've even got some bitcoin-related stuff in the works but I can't talk about them yet.

So, to sum up; I'm stuck in this evil, fascist excuse for a country while my income has gone from 'easy-living' down to 'gotta-work-for-it-now-boy' and frankly I didn't even like the heat, expense, and legal status of bitcoins in Bangkok to begin with, so I'm not really looking forward to going home all that soon. Life kinda stinks right now. :sadcrying4:

So my logic here is simply: Why not go back to Wickedfire? What else have I got to lose? :2drinkspit:

After you guys went and did this for me, I finally caved. :banana_sml::banana_sml::banana_sml:

You gais can be quite helpful sometimes, and even when you aren't, you still have a way of cheering me up... So thanks to everyone who lit a candle on their windowsill for my safe return. I'll sit down beside Norm and Cliff at the end of the bar now once again... But if any of you hotshots have any tips for other well-paying website monetizers that can be deployed across a thousand websites, I'd really appreciate a PM soon from you, too.

Peace & Anarchy,
Luke

Welcome home.

One does not simply leave WickedFire.

I've seen lukep's fb posts throughout his layoff via facebook. I agree with everything I saw that showed up on my fb spy feed.

Amazon might be your winner, for your style of site building. You probably got banned for conversions. Amazon doesn't pay you UNLESS it converts, and they got dat cookie and awesome internal marketing. They can sell anything to anyone looking for anything other than the anything they sold to that anyone who was looking for something other than what they bought, nahmsang.

Glad to have you back.

Damn, I thought EPN was going to go back to their old payout structure and I was going to be making the EPN monies again.

Don't give up bro. Easy affiliate marketing is not dead. It still exists, but you'll have to find it at other avenues. I've never done adsense or ebay, but trust me, test out other avenues. I never woulda thought adsense or ebay to be easy monies until you said it, so it just goes to show that the opportunities out there are limitless despite what you hear from others or read on these forums. Test for yourself and the doors will open. Opportunities are in abundance. Times don't change.

Affiliate marketing/business in general never gets affected by the economy (i mean this in the economic terms like GDP blah blah blah). When times are tough, opportunities arise. When times are great, opportunities arise as well.

Also, thanks for sharing with us how you've been doing. I apologize for the mean post I wrote up earlier, but then again, it's what got you unbanned . I always thought of you as a mean ass motherfucker, but after reading this OP, all this really just goes to show that nobody's bulletproof. Everyone is human.

I'll end this with Plato's quote - "Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle."

Welcome back lukep 2.0.

Hope you succeed, and in the future return to wickedfire and post the lessons you will have learned over the next few years. We'll see great things from you.

Welcome back Luke. On a serious note, do you not think it may be time to re-think the whole 1000 website strategy?
