I am by no means anywheres close to mooks income bracket but I do pretty damn good for myself so I do know a small bit about webmastering, keep in mind I am definitely no expert when it comes to this business and there are tons of people on this board that are smarter and doing far better then me.

That being said here is the secret to making tons of cash online (or what has worked for me any).

Hard work. Most people on here claim to be working hard on their sites and whatnot but I guarantee 75% of the people in this business are slackers and their income shows it. If you want to make the big bucks you have to put in 17 hour days 7 days a week, it is truly a big commitment and alot of people don't realise that.

Most people think there is a secret club where the mooks, shoemoneys, oilmans, and davens hang out and discuss their secret money making tactics that make them rich. They keep hoping to get that one money making secret that will blow up their adsense stats, well heres a little tip, IT AIN'T GOING TO FUCKIN HAPPEN.

Work hard, don't sleep, don't go outside, say goodbye to your friends, don't leave your fucking computer until your rich.

That is very true. Dedication is a main ingredient to success. However, having a normal life to some degree is also a factor in being successful online. You need sometime outside the computer to clear your head. I know sometimes that I am sitting on the computer and my head is so full of different ideas and strategies that I have to get up and just go do something else.

There is also a small bit of luck involved....right place at right time.

Well said John... that reminds me... I better stop reading forum posts and start working on those money making sites.

One of the biggest problems I've seen in this business is conformity. When you set a goal for yourself (which seems hard at the time) and you reach it, many people just say ahhhhh yes! This is where they begin to slack off and just let things run their course. Happened to me once already. Never again!!

Please clarify....are you working those hours to become filthy rich....or just to make a living off websites ...

yea, lately this has been a big problem for me. lack of working as much as I know I need to. I do however have 7-10 days of 12 hour days of work to do, so I will be swamped, but the money outcome of it will be nice, so its ok i guess.

I just need to get back into the swing of working 10-15 hours a day again.

hahah totally agree I hit one goal, then raised my daily goal and hit it, then when i hit that second goal, i just slacked up building and maintaining sites by about ohhh 80%.

Shit sucks when thety start fading. Never again here also. 15 hours+ a day til i get back on track. Then will drop to about 10-12 solid hours a day.

If your goal is to just make a living, then you're selling yourself short. People notoriously slow down when they get near their goals and never actually reach then. So, set the bar higher. If you want to make a living, decide how much it would take to survive on, and then double it. That way, if you start to slow down, you've already surpassed your survival point.

For example, for myself and my family, it would take about $5000 Gross per month to survive. So, my personal goal per month is $20,000 (yeah, that's more than double). Once, I get nearer to that goal, say around $10k, I'll re-evaluate and set a new one.

I don't ever want to reach my goals. If you do, you'll become complacent.

Oops, I guess I just restated some other's comments. Sorry. That's what I get for jumping the gun.

It's not ONLY hard work, it's more about the knowledge how to reach those financial goals!!

You can work 24/7, but if you don't know how to bring in the cash...

Personally, I have a feeling that I get closer and closer every day to reach some how those big amounts: which is hard work, but far most experience & thinking in the right direction! Don't forget also that guys like Mook-Jon already joined the internet arena a long time ago. They saw everthing from the very very beginning...that's for sure a huge advantage! But even when you started doing internet marketing from the very beginning there is no guarantee. Not everyone can make those figures I think! It's also about believe in yourself that you can do it, being smart, etc. Some people even after 10 years still not making a dime. Being "money-oriented" helps in my case, I also see very talented webmasters but don't have the clue how to make (big) bucks online!

Though I think that when you have the right tools, $10.000 per month will not cost a great deal of your time which is still a lot of money for most forum members. But making ShoeMoney, Mook-Jon figures for example that's really insain, so much respect... But as ShoeMoney said there are people out there who make even more!!! :offtopic:

I include learning about the business in that working timeframe.

BULLSHIT. An advantage, yes, a huge advantage, not really. There are thousands of webmasters that started in the last two years that are making a serious income.

The only people that can't make the huge figures are lazy people. If you really apply yourself, work hard and don't fuck off after 6 months then you will eventually hit some good cash.

Not really true, for most people the first $10,000 takes a long time to get.

Just learning about the business is not enough, you need more...
So how much are all those webmasters making who started 2 years ago? $100,000+ per month?
What is some good cash? Lazy or not, in order to make HUGE figures it's not only hard working and being experienced. You also need the talent of doing so...
I mentioned if you have the 'right tools' making $10,000 will not cost you a lot of your time!

I don't know if that was sarcasm or what, but if you don't believe me thats fine, I know from experiance that what I said was true and I'm positive anyone making good money here would back me up.

I wasn't trying to be sarcastic, it's just how I look at things...
Personnaly, I think that if you want to make BIG BUCKS you need to work hard, but more important knowing the ways to reach your financial goals and having the right tools in hand. Regarding my opinion not every hard working, experienced webmaster will be able to make figures like $100,000+ It's also about having the 'talent' to know how... To a certain level you can learn this. Again, that's how I see things!

Sure, it might be an advantage, but I've gone from pretty much 0 to making more than enough to survive on in less than a year. Theres still plenty of opportunity out there.

knowledge + hardwork = big profits.

Time is a variable, but it's based on so many things. How quickly you are to learn. What you start out with. Do you have startup cash? or do you have to work out small first?

But it really comes down to that simple of a formula.
