It expands KW for me but also times out in the comp. analysis.

I was having the same problem. I could expand keywords and also analyze keywords but the analyze competition was not working. Clyde suspected bad proxies... I did test proxies but it I guess the first ones was the reason why this problem happened even while they passed the test.

Now everything is working again. So test some new proxies?

You're right, Google just changed something 2-3 hours ago, we're working on an update and will release something soon!
