Yes we all know its full of shit but after today it still blows my mind how many stupid ass web developers there are out there, I've been developing sites for over 8 years, maybe its getting closer to 9 now so maybe my opinion is biased because its been said things I find common sense are extremely technical for others but still.

Anyway I just finished developing a desktop software application and I'm board so I'm submitting my PAD file to a thousand or more software directories from a list I got off the web.

I was expecting alot of the sites to no longer be around (Which was the case) and I was expecting at least the majority to have a working form.

I just got through 200 active websites and out of those I would say about 2 were properly developed.

There really is no point to this thread other then that I wanted to rant and say it still and probably always will blow my mind of how some people can release or start a website and make very little things on it work hahaha.

I would personally be ashamed to start a website and have half or more of the page not work correctly, or have a bad navigation, or whatever the fuck else I find wrong with sites on the web.

I'm tempted to start a fucking website directory dedicated to the web's worst developers, sites that I find to be fucking sad to look at and to interact with.

<?php
echo '/rant<br />A little PHP humor.';

Actually I too have many, many, undeveloped and broken websites. The reason is that I develop a lot of projects in parallel.

As for the software directories, if you use robosoft it has a manually updated list of 400+ software directories. It costs 80$, but you can use it with no trial restriction thingies for a month I think. Last time I used it, it succeeded in submitting to 370 software directories, a nice number.

EDIT:it also chews through 50% of captchas

I'll have to check it out.

Oh and I"m the same way with unfinished or half-done projects but the difference is that I don't promote (Get them indexed, ect) in the search engines.

The ones which I complain about are the ones who create an un-finished site, and instead of blocking or removing the broken pages, leave them wide open for a bad user experience and continue to work on indexing the site even though it would only take them maybe half a day to make the required fixes.

LoL, but then again I'm a fussy person when it comes to web development, everything I'm not so fussy about for some reason.
