Thoughts on my LP and general comments on what I'm doing wrong?

So I'm in the BizOps niche and I'm not doing too well. Made one sale yesterday morning, but I've spent around $45 on AdWords and AdCenter.

I've spent a good chunk of today's time backlinking in social bookmarking sites and my hostgator CP is showing around 100 visitors total; the traffic does seem to be increasing slowly though. For Eg, the first few days, it would show 'yesterday's traffic' as around 12, then 16, etc, and now it says 42 but I don't know how accurate this is.

My CTR for adwords and adcenter are terrible: both are below 1%.

So any thoughts in general? Is my approach wrong in running so many campaigns on one LP?

Thanks

Well, your entire sidebar is somewhat shitty and wasted space. Also, the Disclaimer button is up there!?! In such a prominent place! No no no put that baby in the footer size 10 font along with all your other contact, terms of service, ect.

The reason that your page might be not working so good is because there are just too many products on the page. You have like 6 different offers that you are trying to run, so targeting ppc is going to be hard when you have an ad that says make money ebay bizopp or whatever and then they go and are seeing just a shit ton of text about robert allen, facebook and google.

People have the biggest internet ADD ever. I think there have been a bunch of studies that say people look at a site for like 1/3 of a second before they leave. Personally i think that white text on blue is hard to read, so if I clicked one of your ads saw that page, I would probably just bounce and you would lose money.

Your affilaite links are not really placed in a way that makes them promenent for people to click on. "After all Google is the worlds largest search engine," You hyperlink google, so people probably just think that by clicking it they are going to go to google.com, which they have seen before, and thus will not be as likely to click it nor convet. You need to have senteces like "Click here to start making moneys online with your free Google business kit." Link one or both of those for example.

Finally...

"if you want to reap the fruits of the exponentially-expanding domain of eBay, you could take that route as well."

Yeah...
A) Sounds cheezy as hell
B) People are stupid as hell about the internet. Watch that "What is a browser" video on shooting the shit where only 8% of the people they interviewed knew what a browser was. Keep it so that your 12 year old sister can understand your site and become a conversion. People don't know what the word exponentially means... much less what a domain is.
C) This sounds CHEESY AS HELL!

That is all I have to say on this right now. Make changes or not... that is just my opinion. Good luck, at least you got a conversion, that keeps me optimistic.

that text gives me a sore head.

How many books have you read with white font on dark blue paper? Its black on white for a reason.

thanks for the constructive criticism.

Thing is, I'm using a 3rd party theme and I don;t know how to change the font sizes, colors, or how to alter the right sidebar.

Skeletor:

Should I just focus on one offer for now then? I notice that a lot of people are using the google campaign.

I'm most definitely going to scrap the robert allen crap and probably the internet biz kit.

BTW, where can one obtain some good themes for creating landing pages? As of now, I'm simply browsing free wordpress themes on the internet.

Yeah I just use the free themes too. I think that it takes an assload of time to find one but the more simple they are the better. Also, it helps if you know a bit of CSS and can tweak stuff.

Also, not sure if you have talked to your A4D manager, but they sent out an email a few weeks back saying that you can not run multiple bizop offers on the same page.

I think it was refering to more flogs saying
Step 1. get Google cash
Step 2. Get google biz kit (this will maximise your profits!)

Yeah that was not okay with advertisers. Im not sure what they think of a review style thing which your site is (kind of).

Cool. Yeah, I never heard that from my manager. I guess I'll narrow it down to the one that seems to be doing the best with A4D.

Random Q: So I was looking at competitors' LPs for BizOps, and a lot of them have this newspaper format where they track your location and set the article date to today and the location to your city. Also, the comments box is always full of comments (which are obviously fake) and always 'closed due to spam' lol. Where does one acquire such a landing page theme?

you are treading a fine line on the issue of outing lps my friend. Heres a tip from someone who could not code a smiley face symbol last year.

Damn - just seen I had caps lock on for all that. Cant be bothered typing it again. Either way its what worked for me.

I am following this process and slowly going in the right direction. Dont get me wrong I am learning but I know (from my bank account) I am going in the right direction.

Hope this helps

You've got a one page lander. Get rid of the "Home" and "Uncategorized" links at the top.

No call to action above the fold, add at least one.

"BizOps" isn't a common term outside aff marketing, change it.

Get rid of the RSS icon, why give them the chance to click on a piece of pointless functionality.

yeah i gotta change my theme altogether.

btw, what do you mean by change 'biz ops?' are you referring to my domain name?

You are promoting "make money online" shit when you yourself are yet to make money?

See the problem here dickhead?

New layout looks better so far. Increase your font size though. Also, don't get too stressed about the word BizOp, I bet most of the people who go to your site wont think twice about it.

Also, the ABOUT and DISCLAIMER... move them!
open up footer.php
delete Powered by WordPress and Manifest and put About and Disclaimer in there.

The layout makes your LP look like a really boring / old manuscript. The text is tiny and way too long. Like others have said, people are going to scan your page for about 1 second. I would say add an image or two to convey the riches that await your customers, and lay out your key selling points in an easy to read manner. Try istockphoto.com or something...

Definitely get a different theme, get rid of the navigation items at the top, and make it really obvious what you want your visitors to do...My 2 cents...

Good luck!

thanks malpais. I went to istockphoto and downloaded some free photos, but the files are WAYY too large for me to upload..

is it legal for me to use photos on google images, download them, and upload them on my website?

Okay guys, I've redesigned my landing pages. I just need to get some images in here now.

Any thoughts?

New page: eh... it's a start. The new theme is better a bit than the old one... but I am not sure I am digging the whiteness of the whole thing. It looks like I am reading a document on microsoft word.

Also you really need to get some images in there. If you found stock photos but they are too big all you need to do is open them up in a photo editor and re size them. (Duh!)

Also Google image search pictures might have copyright laws on them. I am not really sure what happens if you just use a picture of there without permission. I imagine on the off chance that the image owner sees it... Idk they will probably just ask you to take it down and it will not go any further than that unless your site is huge and it is worth a lawsuit for.

thanks guys, i truly appreciate all the input.

i agree the theme is a bit bland.. i still can't find a theme that i really like.

and as for pics, brb resizing them lol :P
