To Sell Or Not To Sell ........

Hey,

I'm really hoping to get some advice on a couple of older Health Niche sites that I have. Basically I wrote a load of content and did a load of SEO at the time I set these up but have never really done anything with them since.

The Liver Cleansing Detox (I have now turned this into an autoblog to see if I get more from adsense as conversions were non existent). This months visits 928 (organic seo)

Pictures Of Warts conversion figures are really crap compared to all the 'guidance' I have read but this site has made a regular few quid for me. Problem is all content was written for a product that I can no longer promote so I have made an attempt to promote a separate product now but really I should re-write all content and I just don't have time.

This site gets decent traffic - 5,446 this month and again it is all organic seo. Sales have been down and I do realise that my content is obviously not great conversion quality if I go by the sales that I have had.

I'm thinking of selling them but I wanted to ask where I should go, I keep hearing about Flippa but I have not sold any sites so far.

The other question is how do I know what type of figure to expect/ask for??

I really would appreciate any help with this.

I'm bored and am gonna rant: for warts, monetization wise, your alternative to cpc ads is:

1) split test variations of a dropdown menu squeeze page; have your question asking 'why are you interested in pictures of warts?' to created multiple segmented lists based on their answer that're opt-in incentivized via a large picture pack of warts that you scrape from somewhere categorized by their cause. Get a few lists - std [and specific std], 'just curiosity', non-std and then start building a relationship. Then pitch. Or sell the site with the lists included and you can get more interest and money, even if you don't build a relationship to the list yourself.

Or you can just keep doing cpc on there... it's kinda hard to do CPS or CPA stuff on a pictures of warts site because you aren't sure why they go to it. You could always create multiple pages and just have the landing page be the question 'what sort of pictures of warts do you want' or simply have multiple menu options on your header menu bar. Depends how good at relationship email marketing you are. Usual asking price for selling sites is 12 months of revenue as a ballpark figure.

5k uniques a month could be netting you good money but you need to do a little segmentation for this type of site. Other ways to do it, you don't have to listbuild, but you really want a way to isolate people who are worried about whether or not they have a std from people who are looking for wart removal or something. Adsense is the lazy route in this case. Appeal to fear - 'What you are sure isn't a wart actually IS! What the doctors don't tell you...'.

Liver cleansing your epcs would probably be highest to just do a review site and have CPA or possibly CPS offers. Google weight loss pill reviews and copy a lander in that style. Clickbank and CPS detox stuff prolly wouldn't convert as well but if you can't find a rebill to push that's an option. Or outsource an infoproduct ghostwriter and run your own if you can do a decent longform lander. Or jack someones copy from a top gravity clickbank and shuffle it around a bit.

You could sell the sites if you don't have the energy to build them up but you're always going to get more money and long term assets by holding on to them. IMO only sell if you need immediate capital to fund other ventures and have some residual coming in as these are semi-evergreen niches.

@ Dubbyah Thanks for the great feedback and keeping them and working on them is a strong option. I think that is why I have not sold htem so far. I know I have needed to do a load of work on them but really have not had a clue what to do. You have given me some real food for thought.

I've got loads of energy to sort these out but a serious lack of time to dedicate to them. If I keep them I will prob go down the outsource route and get them done sooner rather than later.

If I was to still sell, would you say that Flippa is best option or is there any other sites out there?

What price should you ask if sales have been pretty non-existant? Liver site conversion was really bad.
