Hi all,
If you remember, about a month ago, I wrote a post about my first ever split test.
First of all- I fucked it up.
I decided to split test a long running campaign I have for an info product, which, unfortunately, is on Clickbank (fyi - i don't like it, but my LP does convert, so who am I to complain).
I was very excited to get started, so instead of putting the conversion code on my offer's conversion page, which would have required me to deal with the advertiser, I opted to just test my CTR to the offer as the conversion.
My winning variations has a moving arrow towards my call to action. However, I now how have no evidence that this variation actually sells more. Maybe it just gets dumber, less purchase inclined, clickhappy visitors to click. I have no idea.
Question #1: What Do I do with this Test?
Scrap it or should I take the 10% CTR bump and roll with it, hoping that I made the right decision?
Question #2: How Do I Avoid This in the Future (technical Question)
OK - so I don't want this to happen again. How do I get the GWO (or similar) conversion code on the advertisers conversion page? They've previously placed a T202 tracking pixel for me, but I'm not running any paid traffic yet, so that does nothing for me.
Should I have a script written up that will redirect a 1x1 pixel to the GWO conversion script? Or should I actually ask them to paste the entire GWO tracking code and trust that they won't fuck with its contents?
I'm really not sure how to handle this. Also, how do I handle the fact that the conversion is on a different domain?
Thanks in advance for your help.
