Trademarks In Domains

If they want to take it away from you because you are making money on their name, they can.
I believe if you are doing it because you like those cars and just want to do it as a hobby website, then its not as big of a deal.
It all depends on the trademark owner. I'd highly suggest you talk to them first before you put in a bunch of time developing a site and they have it taken away from you.

Dont do it unless you are willing to give it up at some point in time... If and when the trademark owner decides to take it they will most likely win. Whats worse is if you put a ton of work or $$$ into it and then one day its gone... If you dont care and can use it for short term thats a whole other game...
I have a question about trademarks too -
I am about to purchase a domain about a game and I was reading over their terms and conditions, after looking over it this is really the only stuff I see in regards to the domain I want to register (trademarked names have been substituted).
Let's say game is on the domain of PlanetWhiskey.com and their Terms say this:
"Whiskey™, Whiskey Planet™ and Jack Daniels™ are trademarks and service marks of Jack Daniels. You are prohibited from using any of the marks or logos without permission from the trademark owner, except as permitted by applicable law. Planet Whiskey’s graphics, logos, page headers, button icons, scripts, and service names are trademarks or trade dress of Planet Whiskey or its affiliates and/or subsidiaries. These trademarks and trade dress may not be used in connection with any product or service that is not affiliated with Planet Whiskey, in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among customers, or in any manner that disparages or discredits Planet Whiskey"
If, for example, I were to register the name Planet-Whiskey.com and make a fan site about Planet Whiskey, would I still be violating trademark even though that particular combination of words is not listed as their trademark?
PlanetWhiskey.NET is registered and seems to be a fan site that has been around since December 07, so if they have been around that long with no fuss it would seem ok for me to get the hyphenated .com, but you never know.
I would like to know this before I develop a site and have the name snagged from me a month later.

Like I said, the best option is to contact the trademark owner and ask them and get it in writing. Just because they let one site do it, doesn't mean they will allow you.
