I'm just curious if anyone has heard of Travis' Bum Marketing Guide and has any feedback on it. I read it, and I'm curious if it's worth trying out, considering I'm new and it seems like it could help me with keywords and what not, plus I'm on a very low budget at the moment, haha. Well, anyone who has feedback, let me know! Here's a link incase you want to check it out...

Article Marketing

I have heard of it. It is a good explanation one of the basic methods of internet marketing. It does work, if you are good at it you can really make a lot of money doing it.

To tell you the truth, I am actually working on something similar myself with article writing. I am documenting every day to help others out who want to achieve the same thing. If you are interested I highly suggest you check out my site in my sig.

One tip you have to remember is, never give up! These methods can take days, even months, to generate any income.

For an hour or two a day, I'd say it's totally worth trying out. I'll give it a shot and see how it turns out.

I liked the concept and did a few tests. For the first week or so the articles would make the 1st search page in Google. I was thinking this is going be great. But as time went on the articles kept falling in rank and are now on page 6 or lower.

So I don't think it is as easy as it is made out to be. But if your on a low budget it can't hurt to test it.

Well, the key there is: You stopped writing articles. In order for article marketing to work, you have to continuously submit articles to keep at least a few of them at the top for a period of time.

It seems like a painstaking process, but after you do it for awhile you get pretty fast at it. I can usually whip up a decent article in around 15 minutes once I get started. That is of course after the 15 minutes to build up my motivation :D

True, I did stop but after testing 20 articles and seeing them all fall way down in the rankings after a few weeks it wasn't worth it. Travis made it seem like once you get your articles up they will be making you money for months/years from the articles staying high in the rankings. I didn't see anywhere in his guide that you had to rely on the few weeks you actually have top spot and then just continually pump out articles so at least the new ones are getting some traffic. Also you don't get much traffic in those few weeks since the search terms are very long tailed.

Do you know notice your articles drop in the rankings too?

I'll have to check out your blog to see how you are having success with it.

Yes, Travis's guide works and as someone already mentioned is one of the basic methods of internet marketing. It's an excellent way to get ranked well in the search engines for free. It takes more work than just using PPC but it's great for people with little money to get started and get free, targeted traffic.

Travis has a TON of great posts over at the Wealthy Affiliate forum and i'm really impressed with the information and advice he gives out there. He has become quite successful in a relatively short period of time. I believe the last post I saw on his figures was around $50k a month... it's likely more than that now.

All right, thanks a bunch everyone. These replies have been great and the blog/journal about article marketing should be a great help. I haven't been able to log on for the past couple of days, so I just checked this out. I am free for the weekend though, so I'm going to get started with articles this afternoon. It seemed promising, but I figured you guys might be able to tell me if it's worth it (I wouldn't want to write 30 articles and make $0 and quit... That'd be a real drag, haha.)

Thanks for all of the input, I'll let you guys know how it goes within a few weeks or something. Good luck with your marketing everyone. Later!
