Turnaround Time + Reliability + Work Quality => MORE IMPORTANT than Price!

Something weird is happening in this industry... correct me if I'm wrong, but I feel like in the past 1-2 years, service providers have been constantly focusing on dropping down their prices, while giving less of a fuck about turnaround time, customer support, quality and reliability in general. (and this is not just on WF)

I really don't get it... I personally don't care about saving a few bucks, if that means you're gonna deliver my work 5 days late. (even 1 day late is too late!) ... I'd rather you keep your prices up, stick to your deadlines AND respond to my concerns in a timely fashion.

I think Reliability is the most important quality in a service provider. Knowing that when you spend X, you will get your work done by X date and it will be of the exact same quality as the last time you ordered it.

A good example is Lalit from the BST section here (the social bookmarking guy). For 2+ years, he's been delivering the same quality and the same TAT.

A bad example is.... well I won't throw any names but there are tons of them here! The thing I hate the most is when you have to constantly contact the provider to ask for the status of your order. Fuck, is there anything worse than paying someone and having to constantly be on their ass to get your work done?

Also, what's up with all these excuses?
  • my cat died
  • we are on holiday
  • we took more too orders (got this excuse from a few vendors I bought from on black friday!)
  • I'm sick (if you're that sick, simply refund my order and sleep all you want)
  • etc...

I learned the hard way that India has around 250 holidays.

Then stop using sellers in India. If you don't want to do that, at least make sure they have a US based contact. We know what holidays we have. I still don't have a clue how many holidays there are in india.

Honestly, I agree with this. It's SO FUCKING HARD to sell a package now. With the new 10 day rule, with pricing ridiculously low, and with competition popping up left and right....it's hard for the people WHO ACTUALLY TEST THEIR PACKAGE FOR MONTHS before launching to even get noticed. It also looks like friends are helping friends with reviews.

And this 4 bump rule is ridiculous. I follow all the rules. When I bump, I literally am off the front page in 3 hours or less. THE ONLY way we get noticed? Top of the page.

I may be complaining, but it's just what I see, and what i've saw buying packages as well. I don't buy any more packages besides blog networks now. Anything else - i can do better myself.

Oh wells. Gotta keep hustling. <sigh>

Isn't that really what happens in every industry? It's technically a race to the bottom. People are not as concerned with the quality as they are the price. This is why so many people eat at McDonnalds, not because it's good, or nutritious, but it's fucking cheap. This is why people shop at Walmart, not because it's a great experience or because they carry the best stuff, but because it's cheap! You'll see it in every industry from food, to shopping, to automobiles, to airlines, to well really anything. You can't really blame them, they are just giving the people what they want.

Sadly, this is so true...I love walmart and MCDs :(
