I know we have some MMA fans here. Who watched 43 year old Randy Couture come out of retirement to kick some major ass last night?

That guy is my freaking hero.

I was impressed! I couldn't decide how it was going to turn out before the fight with Tim having such a size advantage but Randy certainly had more skill. No question. That first quick strike at the beginning of the first round from Couture was awesome. For the entire fight Tim couldn't seem to make contact. Not one good hard square punch. Have you ever seen a happier guy after a fight than Randy Couture?
 
Oh man, this UFC thingie is really weak compared to Pride. CroCop came to UFC from Pride and will easily defeat everyone. And he was not even a champion at Pride.
 
Silvia looked like he had no interest in that fight and got handled pretty easily by Randy. The first round was so awful, after Coture knocked him down I cant believe they let them just lay there without doing anything.
 
Silvia is awesome. Randy just made him look bad.

The whole fight Randy was just 1 Silvia-punch away from being knocked out. I was amazed. That's the first UFC fight I can remember seeing someone bob and weave.

I didn't think Randy had a chance in hell, but it's been said before: don't bet against Randy Couture.
 
I was at a party last night so I missed it. I've been out of the UFC loop for the past few events though. I'm pissed i missed last nights fight

CroCop had problems with Nog when Nog got him on the ground, and Randy will definitely try to keep him down. Plus, randy incorporated some great head movements into his arsenal for last night's fight. That will help him against CroCop. For the sake of a UFC versus Pride standpoint, i hope Randy is able to handle CroCop. How's it look when Prides 2nd or 3rd best HW is the UFC champ?

Fedor is on another level than any other fighter in the world.

I like Rampage, and I want to see him beat Chuck. However, that's almost the same situation......we've seen time and time again that Rampage isn't the cream of the crop in Pride, so how's it look if he waltzes in and takes out Liddell?

I think the UFC welterweights are the best in the world. Hughes, St Pierre, Sanchez....

Yes, but CroCop got even better after the fight with Nog. And Nog lost to the newbie in the last fight :) I think Randy's chances are not high.

I agree about the welterweights, my point was:

If you're not watching Pride's heavyweights (Fedor & co. ) you are missing some kick ass action. I mean Fedor is unreal - looks overweight, sleepy, but then... magic happens.

Are you thinking of Little Nog losing? Nog lost to Barnett two fights ago, but avenged that loss (well, he won a decision). Barnett isn't a newbie.

Fedor is the greatest fighter i've ever seen. He's like the freakin terminator. One of the few guys that can knock someone out from inside the guard.

Would love to see Crocop vs Couture as well. I hope that's the next title defense. Then Brandon Vera vs Arlovski for the #1 contender!!!

Fedor certainly is in his own class. BTW, is the Liddell-Wanderlei match ever happening or has that been sacked? Especially now that Wand just lost by KO to Dan Henderson.

For the welterweights, I'd love to see Anderson Silva go down that weight class and kick everybody's ass.

Sylvia always looks like he has no interest in all of his fights. He's a fucking boring fighter, always on the defensive.
 
I would never get sick of seeing Cropcop vs. Fedor - probably the two best in the world.

I enjoy UFC, but I think the Pride fighters are a cut above.

Rogan said during an interview that Pride was just milking some free publicity by dangling the Wandy fight out there.

F'n Wandy screwed up his mojo when he decided he could compete as a heavyweight. That shit backfired on him bigtime. Around the time that Wandy was dismantling Rampage, he was such a beast.

One of my favorites is Mark Hunt. He's got a chin as tough as Fedor's. He stood toe-to-toe with CroCop and beat him. If he can keep improving his ground game, look out. He gave Fedor his toughest fight of the last few years. I think he could develop into the 2nd best heavyweight. I also like Barnett.
