I have been building some 2 and 3 keyword Google sniper sites utilizing WordPress blog software and I got some pretty surprising results using a .MOBI domain name test.
The two and three word .com domain names are getting hard to find, so after some frustration on trying to find a long tail keyword domain name on GoDaddy with a .com extension I went ahead and tried a "all tdls" search looking for some .net or even .org domains.
I found a two word domain name that I really wanted that was available in .info and .mobi.
Info has some extreme ranking penalties with Google (been there dont that) so I thought I would try the .MOBI on sale for $8.00 and see if it worked.
I was quite surprised that the .MOBI site worked just like a .com for rankings on Google and that other than taking a little longer to rank it performed well without the expected penalties that I would have gotten with .info tdls.....
So, before I go out and start purchasing a bunch of .MOBI domains can anyone else tell me if they have had similar results? There are a ton of really good two keyword domains available at about the same price as .coms.
I keep thinking its too good to be true, and that scares me a bit. Anyone else tried this approach?
