Just got back home to see this email - it was sent to me a few hours ago:

Hello,

You are receiving this e-mail because you are an affiliate advertiser or marketer on Facebook who I have recently been in touch with. Let me start by saying that we here appreciate your using Facebook Ads, and know that it is not always the easiest platform to use for some of your advertisers. Because our site values user experience so highly, many of the ads which would normally run fine on other sites are not allowed on ours. This is an issue that is decided by a different arm of the company, and not something that us on the sales team have any control over.

That said, it was recently decided to ban most all diet ads. If an ad links to a page which sells things like Acai Berry or “Miracle” diets, it will most likely be denied. This is a decision rendered partially because of overwhelming negative feedback from site users in regards to seeing, as well as attempting to purchase the products in these ads. For your reference, I have attached a document which details our most updated ad policy. Please take the time to go through it, as these are the rules that are followed by our Customer Ops team, who approve all of your ads (and as you now know, they do follow these rules to the T).

Thanks for bearing with us during this time, and we look forward to continuing to work with you to improve Facebook Ads.

I also had previous correspondance with my account manager. Upon having my diet ads disabled and new ones repeatedly rejected, here is what I said:

Well it seems like Facebook doesn't want any of my money as they haven't let any of my ads through. Honestly, let the people in charge know this, they aren't helping themselves by treating their advertisers like enemies. I have no problem submitting these same ads to Google, Yahoo, Myspace, and virtually every other PPC engine out there, but when it comes to Facebook, the content is 'restricted' or the image isn't 'relevent'.

Sorry for the difficulties, I understand your frustration. Hopefully you saw my last email about the Acai berry ads getting deactivated. It’s not that we don’t want your money, but the user experience is paramount to our site, and we logged a ton of complaints about the diet ads. Our team, however, is here to help you moving forward structure your ads so that they get approved and are succesful. Let me know if I can be of any more help.

LOL that's not exactly true, is it... considering they disapprove my ads under section 9 (linking to inappropriate content) without actually bothering to visit the link themselves (if they did they'd see I was linking to facebook apps).

Anyway, I wonder if the diet ban includes ads about diet techniques or just ads for products?

Fucking FB crybabies. Not exactly surprised, no wonder we have to cloak everything. I read that they ran though that few hundred million MS gave them already too...

Just because FB doesn't allow them doesn't mean you can't get around them.

Be creative.

This is a true. Most people can't get diet or acai campaigns running but that doesn't mean others aren't. They're still on there, you just gotta know what you're doing I guess.

why are internet companies so damn picky?

They really need to protect their company also. Sometimes it doesn't always come down to money. I am quite positive that those diet ads were frustrating members, and many complaints were filed. Facebook would much rather grow their member list, instead of making quick bank.

I'm pretty sure a VERY small portion of f users would stop using the service or not sign up because of an ad promoting dating/diets/IQ offers/every single other god damn offer they refuse.

But, complaints will sooner or later lead to lawsuits. So this will escalate to a large problem. Yes, they may reject 30k a day of revenue right now; but that's better than getting hit with a 5 million dollar lawsuit, that will also ruin their image. Then it will snowball, if one sued them, others will follow.

Why do you think? Not everything has a price. Imagine if they start spamming viagra to their own users, they will go down quickly.

Why don't you get gangbanged by 15 men for some good dollars. I'm sure it's easy money, just open your holes for 60 minutes. Stop being so damn picky.

30k a day? are you joking? That's only 30 guys with 1k/day accounts. I guarantee guys on this forum alone account for more then 30k worth of weight loss FB ads per day.
