US Bans Photoshop use in Cosmetic Ads



My eyes! Where did all these ugly people come from?

But seriously though, you're telling me that they're going to be able to enforce that? I highly doubt an algorithm to determine if an image has been manipulated will work well on 72ppi made-for-web images in ads to automate this process. Seems like more useless bureaucracy that will be let slide in implementation until it's convenient to do the random shock-and-aww on a big name or to cut someone down to size when their competitor paid off the enforcement person.

Photoshopping pics in cosmetics ads, is no different than lying on a flog to push berriez, except it's even more blatant. It should be banned in my opinion and as someone who loves advertising, it makes me angry they're allowed to do it - it's fucking cheating. :)
