Great move. This confirms that the Democrats are in favor of government regulation, while the Republicans take an opposing view of... prohibition? Shit, it's usually regulation vs. non-intervention...

He's a good guy.

They've been working this bill through for the past couple of years. If it ever passes it will mean a lot of money for us... like an extra couple of billion spread around..

But I don't think it will pass. If you can figure out why it's illegal in the first place (think about who's lobbying against it), you will be able to understand why it won't pass anytime soon.
 
What kind of effect will this have on affiliate marketers? Its definitely a step in the right direction, but this could also represent the governments first attempt at trying to regulate and tax an entire area of internet commerce. This could be a good or a bad thing.

Take off your tin foil hat. They're already "regulating" online gambling by banning it. Moving something from prohibition to regulation is a slippery slope for other regulation?

good move by the US government if they regulate it. regulation has always worked better than prohibition and they can tax it.

you can be assured that they'll be taxing those gambling companies as much as they can. Thats the whole point of legalizing it, lol. I highly doubt that the government cares about the ones addicted to it.

Pandering to loser groups?

He panders to the left with his opposition of things like:

-Military spending which he wants to cut overall 25%

-Don't ask don't tell which he obviously wanted repealed

-Not legalizing marijuana when doing so would keep thousands of people out of jail and out of our pocket

-Prohibition of online gambling, an issue on which he is partnering with Ron Paul to repeal

-And he is definitely against anyone who is not Pro-choice.


Yeah, he absolutely did drip the ball on Fannie and Freddie oversight rules, so did most of the government. But pound for pound he is probably one of the few members of the house that uses common sense in most matters.

If you have some specifics to add that say this is not true I would like to see them.
