US Student spending budget

The only thing that looks false on there is the average price of new college books. I don't think I ever paid less than $80 a book and most were over $100.
 
^ Texic, yeah I agree, mandatory educational books are fucking expensive.

I'm pretty surprised only 9 out of 10 students own a mobile. Here in the UK I'd be surprised it was less than 99 out of 100.

I bet you had a technical major at a good/decent school. This study probably includes JC students as college students and those books for general ed class are typically cheaper. A larger number of "college students" in "college" right now are people in community colleges taking general ed classes.

Agreed - does this fall into the "board" or the "discretionary/other" category?

I know my girlfriend's biggest complaint when we started dating is that she could no longer wonder around aimlessly into dude's rooms and drink their booze for free...

Girls are whores.
 
I'm glad college students are spending their way into debt and into wage slavery.
 
I paid $400 for the textbooks required for my 4 classes this semester, and I still needed to get about 3-4 more that weren't in stock. And I had a $200 textbook from a previous class - so it would have probably come out to $700 total. blah.. but resale value is decent IME.
