Using credit to get started on PPC

Make sure you're able to pay off your credit eventually. You don't want to be stuck with a huge bill that you can not pay off.

Check out American Express Clear, which is a good entry level credit card with no fees. Unfortunately you have to pay it off every month but that will get you more motivated.

^ Site flipping has crossed my mind before. But let's be honest: There's a chance that I would spend time and money building a site, and then nobody ends up buying it.

I'm feeling inclined to put down $200 for Media Traffic, since I spent about $300 on it before and was only $30-$40 short of breaking even, and I was targeting the wrong offers with the wrong URLs. Now that I'm pretty sure I know what I'm doing, I think I could make it work.

You seem to be waiting for some kind of approval from us? I doubt anyone will tell you that dropping money you dont have on something risky that you dont have much experience with is a good idea.

I'll tell him to take the risk. That is the only way that he will learn anything from this, whether he comes out ahead or gets his ass handed to him. Think of it as an education. Sometimes you just have to pay your dues in order to get ahead. Just my thinking though.

Start with SEO, it's cheaper (actually free depending on your route), less risk involved... just involves more work.

If you build something worth buying and no one buys it -- guess who would be making money off it?

*you*

However, I've talked to hundreds of guys like you -- and this is what you will do.

You will take your little bit of cash and *maybe* turn it into 50 dollars more. It will go on your broke asses credit card. You won't have the money to pay it off until you get paid (30 to 60 days).

You will eventually fuck up and lose the little seed money you earned.... still have the cc debt. Or you fuck up the first time and are flat broke and don't even have enough $ to try something else.

(you could look at it this way instead)

You take 50 bucks. Work on it hard for a few weeks and turn it into 500 dollars and have some real seed money, and a skill that can bail your ass out when you do screw up. Take 100 dollars and do 10 sites instead of just 5. Earn 800 to 1000 off it.... Save some for your broke ass rainy day that will eventually come and use the rest to really try some ppc/ppv out.

You are going to do the first option - even though you know it's wrong and that's why you are looking for validation from us. The only ones giving it to you probably have family to bail them out, or aren't worried about a 200 dollar credit card.

Ex-fuckin-zactly.

OP: You want to spend your money like a mark. Even if you get lucky, you're still going to lose because you wont know what the fuck to do with it.

Build a business by getting some knowledge, or you can just pay the house (advertising networks,) all your dough like the rest of the suckers do.

Read the thread: EWA pays weekly for > $50, and bi-weekly for < $50.

How will I have the debt if I pay it off with the money I make?

I don't think it's wrong, otherwise I wouldn't be doing it. As you can tell, I'm pretty set in my ways, but I was looking for some opinions before doing it. Nothing in this thread so far has really influenced me otherwise. Like I said, even if it's a complete failure, I could live with the monthly CC payments. I think it's a risk worth taking.

Family to bail you out? I can't even follow the jump to that conclusion...

Anyway, I'm not trying to be a jerk and refuse the advice I'm being given, because I really do appreciate it, and in all honesty I'll probably get into site flipping at some point. But I'm basically a step away from having some solid campaigns, and if I have a way to get the start-up funds, then by all means I'm going to take it.

Also:
Even if you get lucky, you're still going to lose because you wont know what the fuck to do with it.

I won't know what to do with it? What else do you do with profit other than re-invest it for more profit?

Profit != a factor of you having money to invest. Anyone can gamble and get lucky, if you don't know why you made a profit you wont know how to repeat it or how to protect yourself when the market changes, which it does often.

I understand that, and the initial profits may be me "getting lucky," but I know how to set up tracking and would be able to replicate and optimize it for even more profit.

*shrug*

I was probably in a different financial situation to you (live in an apartment owned by the olds, no bills/rent and had savings from working for the past 4 years)

BUTTTT.. I just went and took a leap into the deep end, spent 5k before earning any decent money, then when it started coming in, i was doing that weekly. So, if it's not going to fuck your life, I say do it. It's a good motivator.

just make sure you're not lazy or complacent about it. for eg:

"this is my last $100, ill load up a bunch of keywords and direct link some shit and see if it pays off".. because it won't work.

If you don't have the money to pay it off at first, you probably shouldn't jump in with credit. If you plan to spend $300 on a test, have that $300 in your account just in case.

I know it's a risky move, but this is a game of risks and I'm a risk-taker.

Yeh, head over to WarriorF and get some ebooks. Loads of set-and-forget schemes to dump crazy amounts of cash into your account before the month is over. When you're rich, just rewrite the ebooks and sell them to the next noob.
