I see something new on Copeac, using a third party pixel to track conversions. I've never done this before and I'm a little confused as to how it's used.
Here's their instructions:
This tool allows you to upload a tracking pixel that will be displayed alongside the tracking pixel. Be advised that the body of the script tag will now work in the body of an image tag. Also, third party pixels will not be displayed if the client's browser has javascript disabled. New Third Party Pixel:
Please Note: %OPT_INFO% can be used to substitute in an affiliate's optional information from the click. For example the click url - DirectTrack - Affiliate Tracking Platform
would result in 'DEMO_INFO' being substituted into the affiliates third party pixel wherever %OPT_INFO% is. You can also allow for multiple variables to be substituted in, however the optional information in the click url must be url-encoded twice. Example: To have DEMO_INFO&demo=true substituted into CD1's third party pixel it would look like: DirectTrack - Affiliate Tracking Platform.
The '|' is NOT allowed in the optional information.
Then there's a text box to input something, I'm assuming some URL to an image, which is a script that will collect the data/show a 1 pixel image?
I'd like to know how to use this and also how to tie it in the adwords conversion tracking.
If anyone has this working with adwords help would be very much appreciated.
