For me nothing worked except Hostgator.I was using 1and1 before that and thought they were giving me best service until I found hostgator.Choosing hostgator was my best decision as it is providing fantastic services with reasonable price. Go for it.

I'll steer clear from everyone else's opinion and speak about Knownhost. Been with them for a little more than a year and never had any problems.

The most amazing thing is when, I open a support ticket at 1.46 PM regarding an issue on my server and I get an email at 1.47 intimating me of a root login from privatesystems.net (Knownhost support) and within 10-15 minutes, the issue is resolved or if something is required from my end, I am informed.

Hold 6 VPSes with them.

PS. I voted Liquidweb. I love their smart server deployment setup... allows me to scale projects fairly easily... I just wish they'd allow me to take my IPs from one server to another, my only complaint. Linode is also great for the same thing (their smart server deployment) and they DO let you keep your IPs when you move / upgrade servers.
