I actually just had one made. It's a what-you-see-is-what-you-get editor content management system that I had made -specifically- for

a) English majors (like myself)

b) working with HTML templates, css, etc.

If you're new to building websites, I HIGHLY recommend you go grab some good templates (SandalMaker has a box you can type in up to 30 characters to describe the kind of template you're looking for, and it will search for "your words" + "HTML template" for you!)

Right now this is freeware. I had it coded so that I could brand it and get my company's name out there. Check it out already!

But I'll take a donation if you like it and feel like handing me a few bucks!

Seriously Though

w3schools.com is probably the best place to start, if you have absolutely no knowledge of html.

NVU is a free .html editor that a lot of people use. I knwo some people that really like XSitePro, too.

Or you could just go the uber-easy route and use WordPress. Any hosting that has Cpanel, should have an easy install of the WP software. There's not much of a learning curve, it's easy to do just about everything, and there are about a zillion different templates you can use to make your site look like something.

Hope this helps more than a dick in the ass. :jester:

I agree with cap'n. w3schools is the place to start learning html. They virtually hold you by the hand and walk you through the whole process. Another quick method I used when learning html was to 'view source' of site I liked. It will give you some ideas of what you would like on your site.

BTW, I have that most wysiwyg editors are not very good. Learn basic html to make editing your sites much quicker in the future.
