I’m putting my website www.pet-insurance-discount.co.uk up for sale. In the last 12 months, it has generated £3,368 profits, all from SEO. Please see details below.
Why am I selling?
www.pet-insurance-discount.co.uk is my first attempt of an affiliate marketing website. I’ve put a lot of efforts in developing it and I am now looking to sell it on in order to focus on other projects.
Stats and numbers
In the last 12 months, i.e. 01/03/2009 to 28/02/2010:
- 8,797 visits
- 20,359 pageviews
- £3,368 net profits from affiliate programme commissions
Potential
There is great potential to develop this site and increase revenues. I truly think it shouldn’t be too difficult to increase profits to almost £10,000 a year.
A few things I would do instantly, as quick wins:
- Use a more professional wordpress template to drive users to the pages that convert the most, i.e. comparison pages and company pages.
- Develop newsletter database to cross-sell other pet products
- Drive PPC traffic which can easily result in a few more thousands pounds in commission per year. At present, most of the traffic come from SEO. PPC isn’t really my thing so there’s great potential there.
Asking price
Based on what I’ve seen recently, websites tend to sell for 3, 4 or 5 times the annual profits. I’ve decided to go for 3 years, so the asking/selling price is £10,104.
