Well, after giving it many months of thought, and going over all of the current changes made, after the servers are all done and WF is at it's new home for at least a year, I'm going to be making some changes to revamp the way WF works and looks.
I'm not going to change the colors or feel to it really, more like adding new sections and areas to broaden the reach of content and attract more people in different channels of our industry.
Three things we've started to draw up plans for and already started to implement:
1- Content.
2- Security.
3- User Activity.
Here's a quick look and definition to the three topics:
1- Content: Giving users incentives to increase the output of quality and exclusive content over a broad spectrum of topics. Wer'e going to extend the current topics and give new niches their own forum sections, including many secret areas that you will only gain via invites.
2- Security: Better definitions and clarifications of older and newer rules, while making sure our current userbase does not change dramatically. ie- keeping the ebook people, scammers, spammers, and other forum idiots away from ruining our community.
3- User Activity: A community is nothing without it's active user base, and we feel it's very important to constantly come up with new ways and ideas to help get more users here to be more active, whether through incentives (the member loyalty program), rewards, contests, giveaways, freebies, etc.
Overall, the team here at WF, and I say this on behalf of the admins, mods, and guides, that our first priority out of everything else is to keep this place growing and giving and that ALL of this is strictly on a volunteer basis. Brandon and I have worked our asses off for nearly a year trying to make this place the best it can be without taking anything for ourselves. I happen to think we have the best damned staff of mods and admins, and most of our guides are proving to be quite worthy of their positions as well.
Next week we will be launching our First Annual WickedFire Awards nominees list so that everyone can vote for who they think should win for the best or worst of Jun 06-Jun 07. The winners will be announced at Affiliate Summit East 2007 in July.
We're also going to start our campaign of a shit ton of contests to give away free exhibitor hall passes to Affiliate Summit East. We have over 200 contests to run in a little less than 2 months time, so if you aren't an active member here, or you know you lurk and need to join, now would be the time to do so if you want to get in on this. And as always it's free.
Our prizes at our booth at Affiliate Summit East are going to be $60,000 in CASH (not coupons, or discounts, or cards), AND a 62" Fujitsu Plasma Screen TV with entertainment system (valued at $10k+). Two seperate prizes, both are kick ass.
I can assure you, we may have been a bunch of lazy people over the last few months, but with WickedFire's 1st birthday coming up, things are going to get VERY busy and super hectic here, and we want all of our members and fans to be apart of it.
You may see an email from us in the coming days with a survey. We want to know what you think of WF, changes you'd like to see made, honest feedback, testimonials (good or bad) about WF, etc. Instead of making the choices for you, we want you to tell us how to change things, how we are doing, and what changes you'd make if you were in charge here. (And unlike other forums, we won't try to sell you on anything either)
Thanks for reading!
