I'm in. Except I'm doing it with a totally opposite niche. URL is carbloggin.com. I've already posted 3 articles in 2 days. Custom design is coming soon (or maybe a modified free one, haven't decided yet).

You can use both since they serve different purposes - the XML sitemap is for the search engine spiders and the HTML sitemap is for your human readers (although it can help search engines figure out what to crawl). However, I might hesitate to use the Dagon plugin for an article-level sitemap on a blog with a narrowly focused niche and a lot of posts. If you have your keywords in every article title, the keyword density of your sitemap page could easily reach 30% or more which could trigger search engine penalties.
 
Jon all I know is that you're making money at this and I'm not. I wouldn't care if it was summer and you said to do winter niches. If you can show me how to make money on winter niches in the summer I'm doing it. Count me in. I've spent $XXX eating out in the last two days. I need to learn how to get this done. Thanks for offering to help..all of you.

Also thanks for all the extra stuff (sitemaps, feedburner etc..).. others might not know about them so it's good. I don't think I'll add any of it unless Jon says so. I want to see what happens based just on what is being taught. After I learn, then I'll tweak and add my own stuff to it.

i was planning to build a site around this subject with a blog as a menu item - is a blog directory off the main site a good idea or should i make the blog the index page and therefore default page for site.
 
I'm in. Just noticed the thread today. I'll either have a new site up tonight or use one that I created a month back with only one post then I didn't touch. I would just use that one, but it's not seasonal.

Does it really matter if it's seasonal? Will the stuff we go over here be dependant on that?
