i don't think that you will get a cookie cutter method to make money online.

if i were you, i would start digging into all the suggestions that people here make, because all together this is so much knowledge combined, that you probably miss something later on.

i don't think, that it is jon's intention to provide you a simple blueprint on how to build your site step by step. i am expecting something more general, like an explanation of the concepts, the general theory and the one or other view behind the curtains of some succesful projects. how we do it in detail will then be very much depending on us ourselves and on us as a community. we will have to find the means and tools to realize the given goals.

that is just my expectation, but i would be bored to death i would be given a step-by-step guide to get a profitable site. if it would work that way, i would hire ten people and let them produce these sites 24by7. but i guess we all know, that it doesn't work that way.

See you putting words in my post that wasn't there. I'm not saying anything about cookie cutter site. What I said was
I know about sitemap plugins, adjusting the title tag, google analytics, adsense plugins and so forth, but I'm looking to wait to see exactly what JON says to do when this all starts.
Jon could very well say create template pages testing various ad formats or say what plugins he has found that work best or he could show how to do this with no plugins at all, I have no idea on what is happening that's why I asked for JON's response. It might be a reason why he said the niches he did but people want to do other things, we have no clue why he picked the niches what's the purpose or whatever.

I'm just doing what was asked for because if it was asked for a reason at least I'll be where I was asked to be and not just doing my own thing. I can do my own thing AFTER I learn what is being taught...but that's just me. For all we know JON could be asking to create sites in these niches for a reason and at the end buy the best ones...All the people coloring outside of the lines and using site about grasshoopers and dead playmates would be left out..(unlikely but I'm just saying for example)

Because to me much of what I read in many good threads is exactly like JeremyL said people running off at the mouth with no clue of what they are talking about.

How is a new person to know what is good verses what is crap? When I go to school I don't go to class to listen to students I go for the teachers. When the teachers says that's a good idea, then I'll work with it.

So mods/admin please follow JeremyL's suggestion and clear out the extra chatter and info that is not appropriate.

And on another note I would love to be bored-to-death as you say and making guaranteed paper as opposed to being excited and broke but that's me..but as you say there is no method.

So cookie-cutter is not what I'm asking for. Thanks for your opinion though

jeez, i was just trying to motivate you, because you sounded a bit lost and asking for advice. i wanted to motivate you to follow the examples others gave, as i personally think, that learning from your peers is bringing the greatest experience. teachers today are told to do exactly that: to let the group work out their results, because all the power is in the team ;) teachers should motivate and moderate, that's it. so, peace please. i didn't
intend to upset you or criticize you.

I'd rather you stay on with something seasonal, although it was just a suggestion, because it keeps everyone on the same page in a sense, especially when they are targeting similar topics. We can see if one outranks the other or shows up as a competitor. It's also a good way to compare stats for both traffic and earnings, but can also have completely different results from how one user uses their own creative edge on it.
Well I think that answers my questions.

I'll make a seasonal site & count me in. I'll post the link in a day.

I'm in.

I just need to find a niche that will work for what I want to do. I've already got the hosting, just need to get a domain (once I find a niche) and install WordPress.

JeremyL: I think it would be great if you would share your WordPress setup guide. I was going to do something similar, but instead I'll just add to whatever you share.

BTW, your contact form fields aren't lined up quite right. I had the same problem when I upgraded my blogs to 2.1 and I found this patch did the trick.

I tried that patch and it made it much worse. There may be a bug but that wasn't it.

Count me in as well... Still need to find a URL, and the niche I have in mind will be semi-seasonal (its boardgames, which should receive a slight boost in winter).

I might be slow in the beginning, since I am fighting off a case of the flu, but I will catch up.

This case study is becoming a mess. We're going off topic by discussing wordpress, plugins, and sitemaps. It seems we have 100's of people jsut posting random statements and there is no orginization. There sould be an official roster, perhpas some prizes?, and numerical deadlines/cutoff dates. Enough with the flakey crap.

well, then do something about it, great leader.

there is a typo: you surely meant ON topic.

It seems we have 100's of people jsut posting random statements and there is no orginization.

then why don't you write a summary or post about the usefull stuff?
then why don't you organize something?

There sould be an official roster, perhpas some prizes?

fine, you draw a roster.
and i put $100 on top, for the first participant to reach $100 income from his site. sounds fine as a prize? you put the same on top?

, and numerical deadlines/cutoff dates.

draw a plan.

Enough with the flakey crap.

right, enough with this crap.

Thanks for trying to motivate, but I was not asking for "advice" I asked for specifics from Jon and for what I posted there are no "examples to follow that others gave". In fact Jon has said
it keeps everyone on the same page in a sense, ...We can see if one outranks the other or shows up as a competitor. It's also a good way to compare stats for both traffic and earnings...
I don't know how I missed that but it somewhat validates my concerns. cyberworkspace, my explaining my previous post because your opinion / assumption about my wanting a cookie cutter / step-by-step guide was wrong does not mean I'm upset or feeling criticized. it just means I'm explaining to help you see what I'm saying and not what you think I'm saying. In fact the attitude you have is great just a misdiagnosis on this one, so it's all good.

Its not my contest, dumbass. I'm just suggesting ways for it to run more smoothly.

Umm so what's the deal with all of this? Jon, can you update your original post... this thing is out of control...tks
