Im creating a list of articles that Im going to have written for my new site. I'm thinking along the lines of articles like this:

-Knowing your rights (i.e. what to do when a cop shows up at your door and tries to bust your party for underage drinking)
-How to write a resume/get a summer job
-How to get a car /how to lower your insurance rates as a teen (insert affiliate offer here! :))
-Objective information about rushing a fraternity/sorority and greek life in general
-An objective look at why you should graduate high school/go to college (not in a preaching down to them manner, just more like here are the benefits of staying in school i.e. college grads make $XXX,XXX more in their lifetime on average.
-The typical am I ready for sex, how to wear a rubber, am I pregnant and all of that crap

What else can you think of? Like was there ever a situation that you went through as a teenager where you wish you knew more about it at the time?
Thanks for the help

contributed ideas:
How to manage money/credit cards

How to handle credit. Credit cards are offered to kids starting at 18. They have no clue how much their lives can get screwed up by mishandling credit, at a time in their lives when they'll need it for big things (car, house).

credit is the big one, I fucked up my credit when I was younger.
Now that I'm 27 it's finally about to hit 700.

Yeah, I wish I knew more about credit and budgeting when I was younger.

Also, if I knew then, what I know now about girls, I could have been a serious whore. But, now I'm old and married. No more whoring. :(

Another one...on the sex issue. Not only the basics, but (and this may be more geared for girls) blunt talk about not confusing sex and love. Sometimes they happen together, but sex doesn't always mean the person loves you. Too many girls get their hearts ripped out, or even worse get pregnant and think the guy loves them. Teenagers are hormones first, logic second.

I guess I was lucky in not being suckered into any of the credit card lures. I just turned 20 and my credit score is 730 :)

Good idea, I think I could have some articles written up on how to ask a girl out, ideas for dates, etc etc

Agreed 100%- I'll definitely have content on that. I will mostly be taking a conservative stance when it comes to sex, drugs, and rock and roll for the content but it won't be in a 'don't do it because I say so' way.

Credit cards is a good one.

Along similar lines, how about student loans?

I wish I knew just how much of a pain in the ass these things can really be. Sallie Mae is a fucking bitch to deal with and if I knew how much of a hassle these things were going to be later on in life, maybe I wouldn't have borrowed SO much to pay for school.

I used to just ask for some obscene amount of money that covered my tuition, rent, bills, and beer money.....and they'd always send me the check with no questions asked.

Probably because they knew that with the interest rates and whatnot they would have the last laugh in the long run.

So maybe a "truth about student loans" or "student loans 101" article wouldn't be a bad idea.

That slow piece of crap 2 wheel drive mini trucks cant jump 10 foot ditches. You can imagine the rest...

How to conveniently save your money for after college, how to utilize high yield savings accounts instead of your BS .5 percent savings account.

Not confuse lust/love.

Not jump on every girl that comes your way, as it may mess up your future.

Make sure you make the right decisions while looking at the long term picture, not just a week ahead.

etc.. I'm in college, so I've heard a lot more. Hit me up on AIM I have a few others + more list.

And don't do drugs, mkay?

I wish I learned to stop thinking I was better than everyone else a little earlier. A false sense of superiority can fuck you over real good if you're dumb enough to buy into it.

  • How to cram for tests
  • How to network and it's importance
  • "peer" testimonials about drugs/drinking
  • slang words you might want to know
  • general style do's and don't (and stuff like how to tie a tie)
  • Why/How getting good grades is cool
  • Why/How sticking up for dorks/nerds/retards is cool
  • How to get on a teacher's good side to milk good grades
  • How to get scholarships for college
  • How to throw a killer party and set it up so you DON'T get caught
  • Killer pranks that won't get you in too much trouble
I'll try and think of some more for you
