I'm still a teenager so I can give you pretty accurate feedback here.
The first half of what trigatch said - putting shit like "getting good grades is cool!" is NOT going to help you sustain visitors, and will severely dampen your word of mouth traffic. You think some kid is going to tell his buddy "DUDE!!!! LOOK AT THIS!!! GOOD GRADES ARE COOL!"
If you're aiming the site at teenagers, stay away from the shit that their parents are always telling them. I guess you said it - like talking down to them. They don't like that.
Anyway, summer jobs is a big one...those I've never had one of those (hehe <3 internet)...but along with that goes SAVING. Teach them how to save money and not blow it all off. Also, I definitely think the article on entrepreneurship is a good idea. If you don't know elementary business practices 20 years from now - well, you're probably fucked.
Of course the good grades is cool/sticking up for dorks is cool (I think trigatch suggested that because he's a dork) could work well if you mixed in a lot of humor and sarcasm, but still got the message across.
But they key, in my mind, is don't talk down to them. You're only 20, just talk like they're your age. No teenager is going to go to some site that tells him what to do. They have a mother already.
