What did I do wrong with FB ads?

So today i decided to launch a massive ad campaign on fb (in my point of view), its going to be my first one of the sort

I picked out a niche, made one ad copy, found 40 pix of the subject of my niche, spent like 20 mins posting over 40ads with same adcopy just different pix to get approved. I paused the campaign till the ads get approved, when i was done, i went through each ad and noticed that the pic on all was the latest one I uploaded, it pretty much replaced all the other pictures with the last one I uploaded. Can someone explain why that happened? will it change back once the ads get approved?

Fucking frustrated!

You used fb. That's what you did wrong.

You probably hit "Edit Ad" instead of "Create Similar."
