On the firing line
We've all gone through slumps. I don't care how rich you are. You've experienced it before. Either financially, relationships, whatever. So, what keeps you going when shit just isn't working out?

I'll start it off:

I take a moment to remember why I'm working like a dog. My wife and two sons. They deserve so much more than I can give right now. 2007 will be my year, and that will change. I want to buy my wife the pickup truck she's always wanted. I'd like to take time out of my workday to play with my kids and not have to worry about getting fired if my lunch is 3 hours long. I think about the motorcycle that I'll buy with CASH.

So, basically I do a little recap of my goals and aspirations and that gets me back in the mood to knock out a couple more sites, or find more keywords, or whatever I need to do at that moment.

How about you?

a slump is just a slump, i love internet marketing and wouldn't be happier doing anything else so that what gets me through!! Oh and i also will have the best year ever in 07' haha

staying positive is tough. just stay focused on your goals. If you want a new house put a picture of the house you want on your desk, same thing if you want a new car or a new job or a bank account with a million dollars in it. Visualize what you want, then go out there and figure out how to make it happen, dont just dream each day, take action.

To many people look at others and say ill never be as successful as they are, dont think that way, think that youll be as successful if not even more successful.

Getting up at 6:00 every morning to go work 10-12 hours at a dead end job, missing ultrasounds and dr. appts for my little girl, not being able to see her roll over, seeing my wife dead tired (because she takes the baby night shift), getting collection calls and not being able to buy the things my family wants/needs.

I just remember these things and it motivates the shit out of me.

Boo hoo hoo cry me a river

now you make me feel bad jdog... ass

LOL, it's all good.

I'm actually most likely moving to phoenix next month for a job that will pay me about $30k more annualy and will allow me some more freetime to work on this stuff. Hoping to use that and my net incomes to be able to pay everything off and do this full time at the end of 07.

Thanks engaged. I will keep that in mind. I have quite a few friends down there too.

I've been through enough ups and downs to know that all you can do is keep going.

If it gets real bad, I just picture myself having to get up every day and go to work. The empty feeling I get in my gut usually inspires me to move forward.

JDog and SEO_Mike - I can relate to both of you. My wife and two young boys are my #1 motivational factor. Sometimes it seems life is putting you through a test to see how much you can handle. Collection calls, whiny customers (my hosting biz), unexpected expenses for car repair, house maintenance, the shit.. You guys know what I mean.

But I am a hard worker. And I know hard work WILL pay off. I am bound and determined to make it to where I can do this fulltime and improve our life. Money-worries are no fun.

For motivation I think of the plans I have for my family, places around the world I want to travel to, etc.

It is kinda lame and self centered though when you consider a lot of Americans are much worse off in life.

Oh please. Yeah, a LOT more people in this world are much worse off in life. It's all relative and in the eye of the beholder. But that doesn't mean that we don't deserve to have concerns. Caring for our own future and the well being of our loved ones is far from self centered or lame.

I am on the other side of the fence. I work at home and my social life is pathetic! But the thought of going back to a job is so terrible that I can't really pull myself away from my computer at this point in my life..
