Well I always split test the campaign before I finally set that live. However in most of the cases direct linking works for me as it always increases the conversion provided your traffic is really targeted.

I hear landers are awesome if you know how to write up a killer pitch. I would outsource landers. Check the BST section of the forum.

Split testing is the only way to know for sure. Do both. All campaigns are different.

I do direct linking from my page. I am learning copywrite and would give some resources but I don't look like I'm selling anything. My bet is that once I learn how to write kickass copy I will be getting higher conversions than direct linking, but you have more chances to link from your blog posts too. Gotta use all the tools in your arsenal.
