What online broker do you use?

I'm looking to get into some investing and thinking about signing up with an online broker like Charles Schwab, Etrade, TDAmeritrade, etc. Does anyone have any recommendations for me? I'm not an expert investor by any means so a little hand holding and guidance might be required. I'd prefer the fees to be around average with the rest of the online brokers. I'd be investing in the low $XX,XXX range.

Any advice would be appreciated

I'm not an expert at all... but a year or two ago i was into stocks when i had nothing better to do... I used Scottrade and thought they were pretty good.
 
I use Wells Fargo. Its $14 a trade, but the service is fucking awesome

Thats where I bank too though, they take care of me

I am not certain, but I don't think that they offer financial advice, just answer questions about trading and help you with any problems. I have only used the local offices twice so far. The customer service was always great.

Same here. But you should upgrade to a PMA account. You get 100 free trades a year and they are only like $6 after that. Damn good deal.
 
interactive brokers is probably gonna be the cheapest..

I use Tradeking.com. $4.95 trades, no minimums.

I did sign up for an account with Optionsxpress.com originally, but the broker fees were in the $12-14 range. They have a great feature in their live streaming quotes. I monitor around 12 stocks tickers I'm interested in buying and watch their real time trade volume and pricing; then using that info to turn profit in options. If you're into daytrading at all, this feature is free and invaluable.

Tradeking is fast, responsive, and customer friendly. Their site isn't as useful as Optionsxpress.com, though. Since I trade frequently, and do most in high volume small caps, I'm better with TK's brokerage fees and OXPS's tools.

(BTW- OXPS has been a great small cap stock over the last year)
 
I use 3, the aforementioned wellsfargo PMA account (100 free trades if you have over 25k combined with Wells), TDAmeritrade and the cheapest, Zecco (Zecco.com - Free Stock Trading & Investment Community).

Er, technically 4, I also have a vanguard account, but that's Traditional IRA used for trading rather than having some cock sucker charging me for managing my own money every year.

yeah zecco is 10 free trades/mo if you have at least $2500 in your account. If you're day trading though, 10 might be insignificant.
 
you need at least 25k to day trade, federal law, same at all brokerages. So your trades will be free in that case.

My godmother actually knows the founder I want to say. She definitely knows someone who works high up in the company. Pretty funny
