First of all you need to learn to write. Especially since you are a freelance writer. There is no plugin for that, unfortunately.

My plugins are:
xml sitemaps
akismet
wp cache (not super cache, that one sucks)
nextgen gallery
all in one seo pack
cforms II
digg digg
fd feedburner plugin
easy gravatars (people like web 2.0 cutesy bullshit)
sociable
sphinn it

and of course the almighty motherfucking pingcrawl.

EDIT: Actually, sorry aequitas, but I don't agree to that plugin list. It sure is helpful to newbies though.

Sorry about the grammer. I was actually eating fried chicken with one hand and typing with my one non-greasy finger. I was in a hurry to get the question in, as I had to leave for a little bit.

Thanks for the help.

wp-cache work well with wordpress 2.6+? looks like the last update was 09/21/07. super-cache is still being maintained. never used either but just wondering.

Not sure, I've always used super-cache and have never had a problem. You just have to realize that you may want to turn it off when you're making changes to your site. Since it caches your pages, you don't always see changes made right away. Turn it off while working on the site, and then when you're happy turn it back on before hitting publish or save.

Then, profit.

I tried wp-cache once and it caused like every 10th pageload to display an error screen. I haven't used it since.

wp-cache problem - Google Search

I managed to solve my issue with the gzip plugin and left it at that. I wouldn't mind trying out super-cache if I ever come across that need again though.

I have a feeling the Super Cache folks fixed that issue, I never experience that at least.

I've a few to add.

1. Privacy Policy: it's needed if using Adsense and this is the fastest way of getting a quick one up
Privacy Policy Plugin For WordPress

2. Homepage Excerpts: helps to stop duplicate content on the homepage/post pages
Homepage Excerpts Wordpress Plugin

3. WP-db-Backup
Il Filosofo WordPress Database Backup

4. Wordpress Automatic Upgrade: can upgrade to the latest build of WP with a few mouse clicks.

Plus, I use the majority of what Glowleaf mentioned too.

Get Jeff Johnson free Best SEO Wp plugin. You have to set up mysql and username first not the usual few clicks wp setup from fantastico.

Then all the plugin are installed. Pretty good list of plugins and he claims that it seo-d your blog and get lotsa traffic too.

Might want to check with quantcast or alexa on the traffic claim though.

I tried the usual way following an ebook and it was taking too much time. I tried installing Jeff's and it's super fast. It's free too.
