I know you all are going to put me down for asking this...I'm sure it's an obvious and ignorant question.Press releases? What is all this about, can you do this on ANY site? (dating site?, tax site?..etc..) Should your site be targetting a particular demographic to get PR's sent??

Yup here is how they work.
Person A writes an original article and sells PLR rights for it, this ups the price of that article so they can sell it for like $25 or sometimes $97 bucks each.
A ton of people buy it, change the name, resell it, use it for web content, post it on there blogs, and a few re-write the article, change the name, and then resell it, use it for blog content, ect...
Its another reason why eBook publishers that sell Resale Rights, Private Label Rights, ect.... get blamed for recycled garbage online.
Basically though PLR is a fancy word for Resale Rights, eventually the term Resale Rights got played out so they switched over to using PLR rights.
argh, everyone's contributing making me feel bad. So, here's a little thought of mine if you want to use PLR articles on your site:
PLR can give you article ideas for your site's niche, but I prefer to pay an article writer to write custom articles for me. Trust me you will get better result paying them than just recycling it. Seek for article writer who excel at their niche, you will get in depth researched quality content. Just my 2 cent
