What to do when a telemarketer calls

I always fuck with telemarketers. Some people just hang up on them. Not me, I like to scare the shit out of them in ways that will make them remove me from their list, and it actually works quite well. Over the last year I'd say they have decreased at least 90%.

I just say:

"I'm a part of the caller preference service, please remove my details from your system"

And they usually comply. If I can't understand a word they are saying I just hang up.

telemarketers almost never call me..

but the last time they did, I asked him if he got pissed drunk woke up next morning with a condom in his ass, would he tell anyone?
he started cracking up and transferred me to some fucking customer satisfaction dept..

never got a call from them again..

i just think of the scene from boiler room... the guy trying to sell newspaper subscriptions....pretty funny.

I did that to a guy selling newspapers about 5 years ago. I was at the time selling cell phones, pagers etc through excell so I was doing a lot of door to door advertising etc and had my spaeeel down pretty good.

Anyway, the caller was very interested when I told him that's not how to make a pitch and gave him some tips... to top it off when I was done he asked "so do you want a paper".. LOL :glowingeyes_sml:

At one time I was in a pretty tight spot no money and the bills were piling up. Anyway I was getting calls from creditors day in and day out. The one lady started threatening me with this and that so I asked her very calmly "where are you?"? She stated Florida, so I responded "You are one lucky bitch! I just got out of prison on a murder rap and if you were anywhere near me I would pay you visit, slam your face off your desk untill your fucking eyes fell out of your head, then I would bend you over your desk and fuck your ass so hard your asshole would be turned inside out!"

I was paid a visit shortly after by the authorities, but I never recieved another call from them and the authorities after explaining the threatening calls were cool as shit about it.

I suppose if you handled cold calls from telemarketers in the same fashion chances are they would quit calling you.

BTW, I like your new sig Stan!

What I don't get are the people who stay on the phone when a machine calls. It boggles my mind that someone would stand on hold in their own home on their own phone while some scumbag collector gets patched in to the call. People must do it, or else they would not have a computerized system it is amazing.

Too many people think they are obligated to answer the phone and if they do be polite or tell the truth. None of those things are true. It is your home and your phone, you can do what you want. I wish the average person would get that. it would put an end to all this nonsense. The reason why the solicitations dont go away though, is because enough people engage them to make it worthwhile.

What you do is when they ask for you " Say this is his brother, He died 6 months ago in a fatal car wreck,,, then go on to cuss them out for not having any respect and tell them that your going to sue their asses for unethical business practices, etc etc etc,," They will stop calling guaranteed, I used to have timeshare places calling me and since telling them i was dead, they never have called my number since, I to this day get 0 telemarketers calling me,,lol

LMAO, +Rep, thats great!

when I was in high school I used to hang up on telemarketers calling our home. but when I got to work as a telemarketer, I learned how depressing it could be when people hang up on you.

I used to actually work for the phone company and this is specifically what you have to tell them:

1. Take me off of the company's list you are calling on behalf of
2. Take me off the list of the company you are calling from

Put yourself on the "Do Not Call" list at www.donotcall.gov which is good for 5 years but takes about 3 months to go into effect.
