Hey guys,

I wanted to ask what you guys think are the most valuable skills an affiliate marketer/website monetizer should know. I'm finishing up my HTML/CSS book and want to buy more books to expand my knowledge in any area that will help.

-I know I should learn how to use photoshop to make nice graphics so I'm going to get a graphic design book.

- I think it might also help to learn to make interactive features like search boxes and shopping carts. What languages are those made in?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Learn design, I know php + perl + java + C and it does me crap all because all my sites look like cookie cutter MFA sites :(

Thanks I'll definitely get a php book (not sure why though :) but I guess I'll find out when I get it)

What's the use for an assembly language guys? Seems like a huge time investment with minimal reward for our purposes. My game plan was to get up to speed for designing quality web sites (HTML + CSS + nice graphics + PHP I guess) and then stop with the technical stuff and start learning marketing. Stuff like SEO, BH and WH techniques, niche finding etc.

I mean I'll learn an assembly language if it helps but I don't see the value.

There is no value in assembly language, they are just screwing with you. PHP is useful because there are a lot of useful scripts out that you can tweak to work exactly how you want them to work (such as BH tools, or conversion trackers, etc) In some cases and existing script will exist, and since one cannot always afford to hire developers it's easy to do it yourself (well if you devote time to it...)

PHP Scripts - can make your life easier too.

It's just most common one that you need to learn, then databases are good. Really depends on what your goals are.

No need to learn it all if your just selling something, like making the wheel when it's already been remade 1 billion times!

Good luck and it can be a huge waste of time or turn you into a rich man overnight :D

.

You really have a choice between every server side scripting language - including PHP, Ruby, PERL...But I would definitely recommend PHP because the majority of premade scripts are in that.

And never buy a design/photoshop book. Learn that shit on your own. :D
