Hi all, we got some a/b testing software and conversion services that we want to promote using affiliate plans. I actually signed up for Zreffal.com and seems we are good to go.

The easiest to administratie seems to be for us a percentage of the initial sale (we only have subscription services). We got plans (p/month) for saas-tool:$99, $249, $499 and conversion services $797, $2497 and up.

What would be a percentage on initial sale that would work well for affiliates? We can give more on the tool and less on services (obviously since service include lots of man hours).

But want to roll out some sort of plan this week, so love some thoughts/numbers.

It depends on a million factors (how tough the demo is to promote to, how expensive ads are, how big the potential audience is, etc.).

But let me give you one big hint: if you will pay commissions in perpetuity -- as in, when you rebill, you continue paying a % to the initial affiliate who referred the user -- you'll get higher quality users, higher quality affiliates on the offer, and will probably make a lot more money in the long run.

Does it generate recurring revenue? How many people want it? Is the market oversaturated? How deep of a niche is it (i.e. is there lots of competition)? There are a million factors besides the % commission. Standard commissions could be anywhere from 20-80%. Some are 5 others are 95. How much brand exposure are you creating and what margins you are working on will be factors as well. Your own business model and limitations need to be taken into account just like those of the affiliates.
