Whats the best day of the week to start a new campaign?

I've seen some posts here that indicate some days are better than others running campaigns.

What I want to know does this rule apply to all campaigns generally, or is it even more nuanced depending on the campaign type?

I'm going to be starting out in either diet supplements or ring tones and I was planning on doing it on either Friday night, or Saturday morning.

Should I hold off?
 


Ha ha, don't let overanalyzing this stuff stop you from taking action and starting your campaing now.

On the weekend you usually see spikes in traffic for terms for which people surf on their own time. During the weekday you see more business oriented searches. Basically, Ringtones=Saturday, Defibrillators=Tuesday
 
Really, you need to launch your campaign and let it run for a while and then look at your data. There are times to look at specific days + times, but that's usually when your'e tweaking an already existing campaign. You'll get an idea if it can be profitable or not any day of the week.
 
Never start one on tuesday. It's unlucky and your campaign will fail miserably. It's true - don't believe me start one on tuesday and find out.

A few other days have issues as well.

Mondays are only good for offers dealing with "how to never work again".
Tuesdays - just are unlucky - never start a campaign on a tuesday.
Wed.... well it's hump day so it's got to be adult related.
Thursday was "thirsty thursday" at the bar near my college so you are supposed to be out drinking.
Fridays are for recovering from Thursday.
Sat you can work, but chances are you will just screw around and go do something.
Sunday is a day of rest (even if you aren't religious).
 
if you are promoting a product for menstrual pain you should find when the majority of the female population is on its period and launch your site in those days...
 
As the others have said the best time to launch a campaign is now.

From when to be aggressive on a PPC campaign:

Coming from a PPC agency account manager background I’ve seen numerous times that the best day for sales is a Monday, across lots of different product areas, although it does depend as the guy mentioned with the ringtones etc. The type of offer/product will dictate what day of the week is most popular.

When there are no outside influences I’d default with Monday is best. Test for yourself, but we used to push the campaigns a bit more at the start of the week.

It does get a bit more complicated than that though, as we used to see a lot of sales being generated when searchers have clicked on more than one of our keywords before buying something, so for example, they would search like:

Cheap furniture
Cheap kids wardrobe
Brand

Therefore it’s hard to determine when you should push a campaign as you have to consider the ‘research’ phase. For example for Hotels/Holidays I reckon people used to research at the tail end of the working week, talk about it at the weekends with their partners and go into work on a Monday and book.

As for diets, I reckon people will have one 'last' big pigout at the weekend and then start their diet on a Monday morning, maybe Tuesday morning cos Monday morning sucks when you're on the 9-5 and you need a dose of junk food to get you through the day...
