Some basic stuff here, just wondering if anybody wants to add to this.
When doing Keyword research:
Searches, Results, KEI, R/S. That's about it correct?
What does KEI and R/S mean? - R/S is results/searches - the lower the number the better correct?
KEI? - from keyword discovery - The most effective keywords will be those with a high KEI value. Such terms are typically searched for often, but appear on a small number of pages.
That's how you gather which keywords are going to be good keywords correct? How concrete is this data? Is this reliable data?
What numbers would you consider to be profitable or "good" numbers with these statistics in those particular categories? For example what would you consider a good "KEI" or a good "R/S", Is there any other additional information I should know?
In Niche Inspector there were some guidelines such as, if your keyword has a certain amount of searches vs. results there's a way to determine if it's profitable or not.
here's a paragraph from niche inspector:
"I have found that phrases with less than 900,000 results in Google, less than 250K in MSN, and less than 400K are the best to go with, but you can use any limit number you want. Remember the less results the search engines show for a keyword the easier for you to rank on the first page of results."
Anybody agree/disagree with that, or have your own advise?
Does that apply to PPC as well?
Any additional information related to finding profitable keywords would be appreciated.
Thanks
