I need to get a site built -- it's not even that complicated, but needs to be done well and on a tighter timeline than I can personally manage. It's been literally years since I've used GAF, RAC and other freelancer sites -- anyone have any recommendations?

Alternately, would be interested in dealing with someone from here, if anyone has the skillset and wants the work. PM me and I'll contact you with the project details.

If you have to look over your developer's shoulder to make sure they are working, then you need a new developer. Motivation of work through fear = crappy results.

I've always had good results with elance. Always make sure you put as much detail as you can into your brief.

Thanks for the feedback and for the guys who have PMd me inquiries/resumes/samples.

Depends on your budget. After a lot of experience, most of oDesk is crap, but I've managed to find some golden nuggets there. eLance is ok. RentACoder is good too. There are some good programmers here too.

Totally agree. When you distrust a person, that person will eventually become untrustworthy.
