Hello there,

I'm a (not very) long time lurker, (almost) first time poster, and in all this time i've planned, researched, analyzed (over-analyzed), bought domains, forgot about them, put up websites (althought with slim content) them neglected them, got some traffic but never really followed up to refine, test and make it better.

Then i got depressed about it all and dropped it, but in all this time, it has been bugging me from the back of my brain. I know i could do it, and i know i got game in me, but maybe i'm just a lazy fuck.

So here we are again, read a lot of your wonderful posts, re-read the ones i found most informative and helpful, re-re-re-read them.

I have a the moment two options that i am considering: make a niche blog with Adsense monetization, of a forum based on user generated content and to monetize it with ads, cpa offers, affiliates, depending on what works.

The problem here is that if i start both of them i will fail (again), as i won't have enough time to focus properly on both (especially in there early days).

My first question for you is which one to start, which one will be easier to accomplish (relatively successful, as to gain a confidence boost to start other projects), and maybe give me a few pointers or tips on which pitfalls to avoid on the road ahead.

My second question is actually a request for a recommendation: i will be needing a lot of content, either way i choose to proceed. I will write some content myself (keep in mind i'm not a native english speaker, so there will be issues there), but for the most part i don't think i can manage the whole lot. So please point me in the right direction for some good and reliable people for this job. (i am kind of strapped for cash right know, so please think in moderation).

So anyway, i think i've bored you enough with my problems, and hoping this (and other) post will keep me accountable, i await your answers and feedback.

Thanks.

Anyone else feel like we've gone in circles?

Excuse me if I'm being brass, but forget the niche 'blog' with Adsense monetization and wave goodbye to the forum idea until you get your feet a little wetter. Anyone disagree?

My 'quick buck' entry into my main market when I was green behind the ears was via webinars and interviewing experts. It allows you to build a list quickly and make long lasting connections that lead to building a real business. That's not everyone's bag of course, but it's a very easy way compared to other methods to dive in head first and get some real results. Up to you.

Thank you for your feedback, i didn't see this angle, as i am coming from an IT background setting up websites/forums/self-hosted apps comes natural to me, also i'm comfortable with hosting, and servers, and all the operations stuff, so that was my rationale for trying to start with niche websites first.

You have given me another point of view, but since i don't know very much (read: nothing) about what you have told me, i have to step back again and do some more research.

Thank you again.

Sure, like I said that's not everyone's bag and is one of MANY ways to penetrate successfully. If you're good at creating apps, etc., that's something I know ZERO about. You might be better off creating some high quality scripts, software, etc. and join up with an authority that has the ability to sell it in masses. You could do it yourself, too, if you're up to the challenge. Best of luck.
