Which is more effective in getting ranked; A good linkwheel service or link Pyramid?

I get the basics of both link building practices and have been looking to buy some of the services here on the forum.

I was wondering if any of the more experienced members here had a preference for either and why?

Will they both achieve the same end goal if done correctly, or does one link building technique do it better, or even get faster results? Are they simply different sides of the same coin?

I'm interested to see what some of you say.

I can't say too much for link pyramids because I haven't used them but I purchased a link wheel and my serps jumped up quit.

I understand that I still don't have the numbers to be considered a respected member yet but as of my experience.
Since I have been doing both link pyramids and link wheels, they both show good results but in different sites. In some sites pyramids works better than link wheels and in some sites link wheels shows better results than link Pyramids.

SO you can't really tell which is better. But in my opinion the old school closed link wheel is a bit overused and Google detects it easily :D

I fully understand that whilst you may be new to this forum, it doesn't mean you don't have experience. :D

So thanks for the input...gives me something to think about when I am looking at services on here. Especially the idea of G being able to detect a link wheel set up.

Why not use both? Link wheel aimed at your money site, combined with a pyramid.

Tbh, at the moment, you're likely going to be going after low competition keywords, so just links direct at your site should be fine.

Why not use both?
Two reasons:

1 - limited funds to do both right now...but working on it.

2 - I have a site I threw up almost (my first dabble) two years ago which has ranked on page one for the exact search term for two years.

Gets some decent coin but would like to increase it's serp position for another term which is contained within the domain title, without hurting it's current position for the exact match that it is. Does that make sense?

I'd worry less about whether it is a link wheel or a pyramind and instead make the decision based on the feedback for the service provider. ie. use the provider that has more positive reports from members that the service helped their serps

Ummm yeah. Wouldn't think to do otherwise but do you think there is only positive reviews for one service?

Already worked out who I would use, now I'm just trying to get feedback on which members feel works better. So I don't really see the point of your post since you didn't even address the question I asked. Fucking pointless.

If you are trying to build a mixed, hence more natural looking link profile, go for both, but if you are gonna hire the service, do it with those that have the best reviews, just as the guy above said.

Seriously...this goes without saying. The first two days after joining here were spent going through all the threads and reading (in particular) the reviews of established members. This once again is not what I asked.

That comment makes more sense to the question I asked. I assume the combination of both would be a winner from the right service providers. What I am asking is if there is an opinion as to what, when working with limited funds, would be the better way to go in the beginning of the ink building process? Are there differences in results, rates of results and so forth?

Besides the piramids that are created on web 2.0 free sites, then more 2.0 on top of them, plus sb, plus xrummer runs on them, I'd rather go for a good unique ip blog posts, and SB or link profiles on them.

I believe the difference in results is not about the technique that is why I cannot recommend one in particular. I verified myself that all of them work, but since it's extremely relative to the niche you are trying to compete on, noone will be you an exact answer.

In a few words, just pick up one of them, it's not thousands of dollars after all, and if you dont have a few bucks to start off, then.....
