I have felt unhappy and extremely sad and drepressed about life, relationship, work, business, etc... but I have never felt the need to take any anti-depressant.
Being depressed and sad at times is a NORMAL part of life. You can't be happy and feeling great all the time.
People nowadays are too quick to jump on medicine.

Jameel, adwords -> arbitrage -> adsense can cause depression if caught. Heh.

OP, no. I've been down but I don't take junk in my body.

I personally wouldn't recommend prescription antidepressant due to side effects.

I'm feeling a bit down myself for about a month now. No motivation to do anything, apathy, staying in bed all day, etc.

What I noticed helps is lots of rest, protein shakes and eat as much as you can. Fats, carbs, protein, everything. Fats help with hormone productions, carbs help with energy and serotonin production and protein helps build neurotransmitters.

I've found that st johns wort works somewhat, however you basically cannot eat certain proteins because it will raise your blood pressure too much. Read up on it, but be aware of potential side effects, which can be quite bad if you aren't careful.

I also noticed that OTC sleep meds (Diphenhydramine) help me to relax at night time and fall asleep better.

Avoid alcohol, because it might help you a bit, but it will make you feel much worse for next few days afterwards.

I have mixed feelings about exercise because it seems to make me happy for about 2 hours, then I get more depressed and anxious.

Overall I think the most positive effect for me is eating as much as I can, even though I'm almost never hungry lately.

Give it time and eat right, sleep good, maybe get some exercise and over a period of time it will get better. Also get multivitamin.

I don't take anything at all, not even asprin when I'm in pain, the only time I ever take medication is when I've got a really bad cold, thats the only time, people call me crazy when I'm in pain but I just say "Its only going to last as long as it lasts".

There are way too many city folk who have one minor problem and run off to the drug store and try to make it better when it only makes things worse. Its called mind over matter, learn about it sometime.

I wish I had time to be depressed.

(Hint: That was a hint. Get so lost in your work and personal life that you don't have time to be "depressed.")

Working alone day in and day out inthe house can take it's toll on your psyche. You may want to take a laptop up to your local Starbucks or something for an hour each day just for some human companionship. I know it helped me a bit when I felt stir crazy.

This has actually gotten to me before, I started to develop a social anxiety disorder because I would be inside working by myself for 5 to 6 days a week 12 to 14 hours per day and after you do that for a couple weeks, you go outside and get nervous for absoltuly no reason, you keep telling yourself that there is nothing wrong but its something you cannot control.

The way to overcome it is to get out and keep going out and be around groups of people even if you don't know them or don't talk to them, going to the local coffee shop with the laptop and grabbing a coffee, is a huge help if you ever start to develop a social anxiety disorder.

At first it makes it worse because you think people are looking at you like your crazy, laptop in a coffee shop or something else but this is not the case I've found that people usually ask me what I'm doing and I tell them I'm working on my business and watching my money grow by each hour, they get right into it and start asking you shit haha.

I deal with episodes of depression about 1 week of every month, most people get depressed over something traumatic, like losing a job, or a break up or whatever, stuff like that motivates me.

I just get depressed out of the blue for no reason at all, doesnt matter what Im doing or who im around, its almost like a chick having her period once a month, I get depressed one a month. Everything sucks, I dont like talking to people and no matter where im at financially its just not good enough and im going to fail miserably, he he he, good times :)

Its just one of those things, deal with it, or if you think its really that bad and you are considering things like deep throating a 45, then you might really want to consider seeking professional help.

antidepressants before because htye felt unhappy or prepressed in life or about work?

Anyone

No anti-depressants here, but I've delt with some serious bouts of depression before and it is a very serious thing. It takes strength to beat depression so you have to be strong. Stay busy and try to think positive thoughts about yourself and life in general. Acceptance of whatever it is that you might be depressed about is critical to understanding and overcoming depression.

If I got banned from adsense, i wouldn't blame you. Anti depressants have side-effects though, I don't recommend them.
