I'm no expert, but #s 1 and 3 seemed to be suffering from vortex ring conditions, which I believe is the fancy term for churning the air below them too much for there to be enough resistance for them to stay aloft.

I've seen videos of news helicopters hovering too long above their own wash and just plummeting.
 
SniperRyan - I am a pilot and I concur. A helicopter has to have something solid to push against.

Even I though I fly the small stuff any aviation videos just make me cringe.

You guys would like this: awhile back someone sent me a link to a porn scene that was made in a helicopter while it flew around L.A. Insane! Don't have the link any more.
