I was hearing some weird ass noises coming from the water heater vent this morning and didn't know what was going on. Eventually I assumed it was a bird because I thought I heard wings flapping. I was going crazy trying to figure out where it was exactly but the sound kind of echoed through the vent pipe so it was hard to tell.

I stuck my hand inside the chimney and eventually this little guy showed up. Guess he got stuck in there somehow. I didn't have a screen on the damn chimney (I know my fault) and that's how he got in I guess. He has been set free. Anyone know what bird this is?

Looks like a starling which are nasty fuckers. We used to shoot them with a 4-10 shotgun.

They kill other birds and take over their nest.

I shoot them too. They are not native to North America and are considered a nuisance species in the United States. They chase the other birds away from our bird feeders and just few of them will eat an entire suet block in a day.

For those saying it's a pest...it's most likely the fault of humans that they've made it over here to begin with...I just see humans as the pest now in these situations. Should be a humane way to deal with this if it's an issue :/

This asshat released 60 of them in Central Park back in 1890.

There is estimated to be 200 million+ now in the United States. They are really aggressive towards the native birds and take over their nesting holes.
